Chapter 14

"Good morning beautiful mate of mine" he said kissing the top of my head.
"Good morning" I said smiling at him.
"Did you sleep well? I'm sorry I wasn't there when you woke up" he said frowning.
"She practically jumped out of the bed when she woke up alone" Brecken said laughing, I playfully smacked his arm.
"I did sleep good but I did almost jump out of the bed" I said laughing. Zari was staring at us smiling as she watched the encounter.
"Hi mama Z" I said smiling at her.
"Hi baby girl, how's your leg?" She asked as she came over and hugged me.
"Much better now if I could just keep my balance. I about fell coming out of the bathroom but Brecken caught me if he didn't I probably would've caused it to break again honestly." I said glancing thankfully towards Brecken, he simply nodded.
"Thank you for staying with her and helping her" Zeke said.
"She's going to be my future luna when she's ready so it's my duty to help and protect her even from herself" he said winking in my direction.
"Where's Zeta Kartier?" I asked curiously.
"He's out back enjoying a cup of coffee" Zari said "would you like a cup I brought your favorite?" She asked. I nodded.
"I'm going to go talk to Kartier, can you bring it out when it's done?" I asked Zeke.
"Of course my love" he said smiling. I stood on my good foots tippy toes as I lightly placed a kiss on his lips. He smiled causing me to smile.
"Do you need help getting outside?" He asked.
"No I think I'll make it okay, thank you" I said smiling.

I slowly walked out the kitchen door that led outback and made my way to the chair next to Kartier.
"Good morning my favorite child" He said smiling at me.
"Good morning pops, how're you holding up?" I asked.
"I'm doing good. I'm very proud of who you have become Cassiopeia. I heard about what you did to Roland. I only wish Jay had your strength." He said looking to the ground.
"Only she can decide to leave and find better." I said quietly.
"I hear you found your second chance mate, are future Luna of the strongest pack known to man kind, and a pure wolf?" Kartier asked glancing at me smiling.
"All of this is true. I'm so thankful for everybody I've encountered in my life even Roland. After my parents death he set everything in motion. You and Zari taught me to be kind and strong. You showed me good people still exist and you introduced me to Meadow. She saved my life so when everything happened I ran here to find her and I met Zeke and even though I've only known him a few days he's been amazing to me. I think I'm honestly falling for him and I don't even think it's just the mate bond. Jax taught me not everyone can be trusted and Jay taught me not everyone is strong and some just need help." I said quietly "everyone has shown me the type of person I need to be. Everyone has shown me to be like my mother."

I felt an arm on my shoulder as I glanced up to see Zeke. I smiled, he set the coffee down on the table before he picked me up sitting in the chair I was in and placing me in his lap.
"You better be good to her Hezekiah. She's an amazing person, she is my daughter and she has made me the proudest dad in the world" Kartier said defensively.
"I will sir. I will protect her until my last breath." He said kissing the side of my head. Kartier smiled.
"I'm glad she found you Zeke" Zari said as she walked out to sit on Kartiers lap.
"I am too. She's the strongest person I've met" he said quietly as he admired me.
"We have some news we want to share" Zari said smiling at Kartier. I glance up looking at them.
"No! I knew you were glowing!" I said loudly.
"Your thoughts are true. I'm pregnant!" She said excitedly.
"We want Meadow to deliver the baby if that's okay with you Zeke?" Kartier asked.
"That is more than okay, you guys can come down whenever to see her or we can arrange for a car to bring her to you." He said. I smiled at him, he was so kind to others.
"I'm so excited for you guys! This is amazing! You'll be amazing parents!" I said excited.
"Umm Zari, I think the casserole is done but umm I'm no chef so I have no idea" Brecken said poking his head out. We all laughed.
"Would you like to help me Cassie?" Zari asked.
"I would love too" I said smiling. I turned to Zeke kissing him softly. Before I stood up grabbing my coffee and slowly following Zari inside.

Zari was making her famous breakfast casserole. It was my favorite dish ever, I used to love when she made it. It was scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, some peppers, and torn up cooked pancakes all mixed together and coated in cheese.
"I've always loved this dish" I said.
"Me too" Zari replied. She pulled the dish out of the oven, Brecken gathered plates while I just stood there drinking my coffee.
"I'm such a big help" I said laughing.
"Well Zeke asked for a moment alone with Kartier so I asked you to come in with me" Zari said smiling. I could tell she knew more than she let on but I didn't pry. I watched out the window as Kartier hugged Zeke with tears in his eyes. I wonder what Zeke said, I had never seen Kartier cry. They made their way inside and Zeke approached me pulling me into his side. I smiled, it had become my new favorite spot. When Zari was done cutting the casserole into slices we all got our food and sat at the table. As we ate breakfast we all just talked about the baby, plans with meadow for the baby, and plans with how to handle Roland. I sensed someone watching me so I stood looking to Zeke.
"Can I borrow Brecken for a walk?" I asked. He nodded I kissed him softly before Brecken and I walked out the door. When we left the view of Zeke I stopped and turned to Brecken.
"I need you to keep distance but keep me in your view, someone is in the woods watching but my wolf can sense they mean no harm to me. Just to be sure I need you close but not too close." I said. He hesitated for a second before nodding and doing as I asked. I walked into the woods looking around.
"I know you're out here I can sense you so just come out." I said loudly. There was a rustle in front of me before she appeared.
