Chapter 7

As we arrived I tried my hardest to wake either of them up, I just wanted a minute alone in the peacefulness of the woods. I hadn't been able to get much of that since I moved. I was laying on the ground just staring up in peace when I heard the door open and Jax appeared above me.
"Whatcha doing?" He asked.
"It's peaceful." I said quietly.
"You're change will start right after sunset which will be soon, we gotta get over that ridge and you can set up and watch the sunset from there. Ok?" He asked. I nodded and he grabbed Jay. I grabbed my back pack that had a phone, 3 pairs of extra clothes, extra shoes, extra socks, bras, and underwear, a charger, some food, some water, a card I had been putting my money on from work and some cash in case I run into Roland or his men. I stuck my car keys in the gas cap before walking to the other side where Jay and Jax were. We headed over the ridge and watched the sunset. Right after the sunset my shift change began and Jax and Jay chained my legs.
"Hey what're you doing?" I asked. This was not planned. I have to run free.
"Well you see Cassie. I was thrown out too for defending you but Roland found me and told me I could join his pack or die so I joined his pack then I went for Jay. I brought her in and made her join the pack. Our sole mission for our pack is to bring you in." Jax said with a hateful smile. I couldn't believe who he's become. I looked to Jay she looked said. She looked like this was forced but Jax was not forced. If I could get loose I could run for Obsidian Moon Pack and find Meadow.

My transition was hard and painful but it was dark out and cool so it was bearable.
"Why did you just take me in after we ate?" I asked.
"Roland asked us to wait til you transform. He and his men are meeting us here. I'm the one who sent the letter pretending to be Kartier. I picked this place to make you feel safe but it was a trap." Jax said. Suddenly the pain was gone and when I appeared at Jax and Jay, their eyes were wide.
"It can't be. Stay with her Jay I'm going to find Roland." Jax said and Jay nodded. When Jax disappeared, Jay walked to me with the backpack and put it in my mouth.
"I love you Cassie. You need to run. Find meadow. Now!" She said as she undid the chains on my legs and I didn't hesitate I ran. I heard yelling and howling behind me but I didn't stop I ran as fast as I could now in wolf form, it was exhilarating. I could see the pack territory and I pushed forward. I made it just close to the pack territory when I was tackled to the ground. It was Roland, I had never seen his wolf but I could tell he was an alpha so I knew who it was. He was the only one who had caught up yet. He stood in front of me growing as he circled me I regained my footing standing as tall as I could. I growled and he whimpered, 'that was weird' I thought. Roland took off running so I turned to go to the obsidian moon pack and I got tackled again. I was pissed now. It was Jax and 2 others, I fought back as hard as I could. They all jumped at once and suddenly I lost conciseness.

As I regained conciseness, I could hear them fighting, I'm not sure who it was but suddenly it stopped after some whimpers. I was picked up by a stranger man I had never seen before I asked for Meadow and then I blacked out again. When I woke I was in a strange room, it was fairly empty but I could tell I was in a bed. There was a dresser and 2 doors. I stood up carefully, I was super dizzy as I stood. So I stayed still trying to catch my balance. One of the doors opened and I looked up and saw Meadow.
"Cassie! You're awake!" Meadow said happy.
"Meadow thank god I was headed to find you." I said as I hugged her.
"What happened Cass?" Meadow asked quietly.
"Remember the whole rejected by my mate and banned thing?" I asked quietly and she nodded. "Well I had run to the human world but todays my 18th birthday so I had to get through my transformation so I got word to come close by your territory and I'd be okay but it was a trap set by Alpha Roland and Jax. Jay set me free and I ran for you. I didn't know where else to go. My car was close by but I knew I had no time and wouldn't have made it." I said quietly.
"Jax? As in the one who got me to save your life? Why would he do that?" She asked. Just then I smelled something sweet and the other door flung open. I whipped my head towards the door and saw 2 men walking in. They looked a lot alike. One looked younger and had brown short hair with green eyes, he wore a black shirt with a pair of khakis. The other was mesmerizing but stared intently with no emotion, he had black longer hair that stopped at his eyebrows. His eyes were a bright blue, he wore a dark red shirt with a pair of rock revival jeans. I stared of him for a bit.
"I see she's up" the younger one said. I just looked at him.
"Yes she's up. I need to speak to you sir" Meadow said looking at the older one. He nodded and they stepped out of the room, leaving me with the other stranger.
"My names Brecken. The other guy is Hezekiah, he's the alpha. What's you name?" Brecken asked.
"Cassie" I said quietly not making eye contact.
"Where are you from Cassie?" He asked.
"It's a long story" I said quietly.
"Well I have time" Brecken said. The door opened again saving me from having to tell a stranger my life story.
"Can you leave us for a bit Brecken?" Hezekiah said. I was getting nervous.
"Don't worry Cassie. Just tell Hezekiah everything. He's trying to decide if he should bring you into the pack. Tell him everything truthfully." Meadow said quietly to me as she gathered some of her things before she left the room. Brecken glanced to me.
"It was nice to meet you Cassie. You'll have to tell me that long story one day." He said winking at me. Hezekiah looked at him as if he was overstepping into his territory. Brecken left and shut the door behind him. It was just us, Hezekiah pulled up a chair and sat in front of me.
