Chapter Eight

A meeting was announced and everyone went to the Diwaneya to know our plans. Everyone was talking and suggesting but Kami was in a cloud of thought, She was dazed by what happened, and was in a trance-like state. Alexander was all ears for any suggestion but his gaze was fixated on her, she was as white as a ghost. One of her uncles said something that pulled her from overthinking, "do we HAVE to risk everything for one girl?" he stated and thankfully her parents weren't in the meeting. But Kami was and heard what he said, and before any of Kami's and Wadha's uncle  said something... she stood and walked up to him with a blank face but very boiled heart and gave a punch at him, right in the nose, way too hard that made his nostrils spill blood as if it was a sink. Everyone gasped or stood up in shock but Kami did not flinch and walked out to go to her cave.

I was gathering what I need to go and try to find my cousin. Took an M17, M9A3, M4A1, M110SASS, loads of magazines and grenades and knives. I put everything on top of the coffee table and repeated to myself, "did I miss anything". Until I heard a knock on the door, and Alexander appeared standing and looking at me, I was going back and forth in the room and when I turned to look at him I saw him crossing his arms. "I don't have time to talk" I warned, "what are you thinking? Going to war by yourself?" he taunted me, "I SAID I DON'T HAVE TIME ALEX" I shouted with a quivered voice, I was trying so hard not to cry but I couldn't handle it anymore... my favourite cousin has been taken from me and god knows what they'll do to here, and I think Alex and the guys knew how much she means to me because all I talk is about her. "Kami... everything is going to be alright okay? We just need to plan this out and work together, can you do that?" his voice was calm trying not to agitate me. I looked up at his with watery eyes and shook my head with disappear, he approached me and was so close to me, now I was looking up at him. "Just know that we are going to GET her... fuck your uncle" he stated, "I can't... I-I just cannot stay and do no- nothing" my voice still shaky and my lips quivered and I hung my head low for him not to see my tears falling. I heard him taking a deep sigh and out of nowhere he wrapped both of his arms around me, hugging me, I was taken off guard and stood still but after a moment I wrapped my arms around his waist and hugged him tighter. "We'll get her... I give you my word, sweet angel" he comforted me in his smoky voice.

They stayed in this position for a moment until an alert comes up the surveillance and Kami pulled back and ran to the screen. She saw a car waiting in front of the main gates and flashing the car flasher lights... smart they don't want any walkers to come by. Kami and Alexander shared a look and then took the guns on the coffee table and ran up and outside while yelling at everyone to go into position. "Kids, women, elderly INSIDE! EVERYONE GO TO YOUR STATION. Show them what we have" Matthew broadcasted. Kami, Matthew, Alexander and James went up the gates and signalled to open the gates for the car and let it come in since it was dark out and no one right now wants to deal with walkers.

As the car got in, the guys and I pointed our guns at them and motioned them to come out and so they did. "Hey man we come in peace" one guy stated as James pushed him to go in front of the car, and when he did he was face to face with Alexander. "In peace? You took one of our own" he roared at him as he got closer to intimidate him and it worked, "look we just want a trade" he responded, as I was watching I was boiling from the inside, "a trade? We won't give you shit! Look around... you don't wanna mess with us" Alexander continued as the two men looked around and saw our gunners stationed, "us and our group really just need fuel to get out of Al-Abdily... and we're sorry about how it happened but it had to" he reasoned and looked at me, "had to? You had to? You had to kidnap a little girl for fuel? And what then? Did you do something to her?" I fumed and got closer to him pushing Alex away, "NO! I swear we did not" he swore, "I don't give a shit about your swearing... you ARE going to take me to her RIGHT NOW OR I SWEAR... you'll meet an end so cruel the devil will weep for you" I threatened and he looked around at the boys confused, "she's not messing around" James added, "okay we'll take you to her" he said, "what about the fuel?" another one of them asked as I turned, "we'll think about it once we see her" Matthew replied, "okay you'll follow us?" he asked again, "I will... no one comes with me" I stated and went to get a car.
