Lunch was an insufferable wait for what is to come for me. I was straying in my own head through most of it until we were about to say goodbye to the noblemen and women from the great houses of the realm.
House Lannister, Tyrell, Arryn, Greyjoy, Baratheon, Martell, and Tully already left. The last Great House to leave was Stark because the lord of House Stark and the other minor houses of the North wanted to speak to the King and his Hand in private. After they were done with their conversation, they all came outside. "It was a pleasure meeting you at last. princess" Lord Stark said to me. "It is a great honor my lord for having you in my brother's court. I hope you and your men enjoyed the tournament" I smiled at him and then looked at Lord Benjen Mormont. "We did your royal highness" Lord Mormont smiled nodding. "Good. then farewell good friends" I slightly bowed and so did they. Lord Stark took one good glance at me before he mounted his horse and left the main yard of the Red Keep.
"Can I be excused to my chambers brother? I've had a long day" I mumbled to my brother. "Are you alright?" he asked concerned. "I will be once I rest" I stated and he nodded. I turned to see James and Matthew standing by the doors. I walked with them to my chambers and before I entered Matthew spoke, "KK is everything okay? Your behavior have changed since Jacearys entered your room! You can tell us whatever it is and we will do what's need to be done okay?". I chuckled lightly as I turned to him. "He is my niece's son and he did nothing. We just spoke and you do not imply for killing him again" I chuckled again. "I just need to speak to Alex about some stuff that concerns me and him first and I am sure he will tell you, but if he didn't I can do that" I faked a smile and walked in my chamber.
I locked the doors and went straight away to the secret tunnels. As I opened the door, Alex was standing in front of the door, waiting, and apparently he was anxious.
"Vee what is wrong?" he approached me slowly, trying to hold my hands. I held his hand and pulled with me up the stairs to a forgotten tower. I left his hands as he stood by the arched door and I went to the window. "This is killing me baby! Are you okay?" he asked nervously. "No. I was never okay with coming back here. It is my home, yes, and I love it. But I hate it at the same time. For what it enforces upon us to do and say and act" I sighed. I turned to him and he was standing a little far by the door, awaiting for the bomb to drop. "I want to go back there, to the island, but I cannot. I am forced to stay here and be the people's princess" I stated. Alexander approached me slowly and held both my hands in his. His soft eyes gazed into mine and I could see that he is concerned for me. "What is this about? You were happy this morning?" he questioned. "Alex we cannot be together" my voice cracked. His soft eyes turned wide and he pulled his hands away from mine, shocked is the least that could describe him. "I will get married, Alex. Whether I choose the man myself or it will be forced upon me, I will eventually get married to some lord. It is my duty as if the realm would crumple if I didn't...but nonetheless, it is my destiny. And you, Alex, have sworn an oath of the brotherhood! You will be executed..." my voice was shaking and my eyes watered. "And the boys would be outlaws! And I will become a traitor in the eyes of my brother. And I will ruin everything he ever worked for. Alex, I cannot do it to him and to you. I will not see you dead because of me" I shook my head repeatedly. "What is this? Are you really wanting us to end? For what?" Alexander started getting angry. "For your safety!" I shrugged. "If the cost is being with you then I am happy to pay it" he started breathing heavy. "I will not have you play with your own life at the expense of being with me! You will be KILLED Alex" I moved away from him as he tried holding my hands. "That is if anyone finds out Vee! They will not!" he tried to look me in the face but I avoided that. "You do not know it yet but this Castle has it ways of spreading secrets like flies" I sighed. "We are early in our relationship, we should end it before it gets too hard for us to take that step" I shook every doubt in my mind of that decision, knowing it is the best for us. "Are you seriously ending what we had for something that might never happen?" Alex questioned angrily.
