"WHERE THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING?" Melissa's father screamed, causing the brunette girl to flinch from the sudden loudness. The fighting... the abuse, had gotten so bad that the Jonas family had invited her to come spend some time at their house.

She didn't even reply, knew if she did; it'd make everything a million times worse.

"Answer me when I speak to you, you little ungrateful bitch." he commanded, slapping her across the face. A loud cry came from her plump lips, as she stumbled backwards just a bit from the force.

The whole room smelled of alcohol, it was evident that her father was drunk... beyond drunk.

Why was he like this? Why did he do these things to her, her brother and their mom? What did they do wrong?

Were they not good enough?

Her body shook violently as she continued what she was doing, knowing she needed to get away from him. Being here, with him... as her brother was at baseball and her mom at work. It was just the two of them... and Aunt Denise would be here any minute.

But of course, the silent treatment she was giving him... wasn't enough.

He pushed her onto the cold hard ground with as much force as he could muster. The pain he was inflicting on her, intensified as the seconds ticked by.

"Daddy... you're hurting me!" Melissa sobbed, holding her arm close to her chest. She prayed the pain would go away, but it wouldn't... it would never.

Melissa jolted awake, gasping for air as she searched the hotel room she was in. She hadn't had any nightmares of her past, in so long. Why did it come up now?

"Baby?" Nick groggily asked, his chocolate brown eyes connecting with hers. "Princess, you're okay. I'm here." He whispered, realizing what had occurred. The girl was sitting there, shaking; staring ahead of them.

His arms practically suffocated her as he pulled her onto his lap. "I...I had a n-nightmare... of when h-he..." she sobbed, her heart beating out of her chest.

"Hey... hey... it's okay. I get it. All the shit he did to you... I understand why this happens sometimes." his soft voice murmured, pressing his lips against her head. "But you're okay. I'm here. He can't get you anymore."

Melissa nodded, her head raising from resting on his chest; to lean against his. "Thank you N-Nicky.." she whispered, her blood shot eyes still all watery.

"That's what I'm here for Angel." he mumbled, leaning forward to press his plump, heart shaped lips against hers.
