Melissa had just gotten to London with Aunt Denise to start out the summer being with the Jonas family, she had never gone out of the country—well except for Canada-which it really doesn't count-.
Things back at her home weren't doing all that great, as her parents were constantly fighting... always putting the blame on each other. They had filed for divorce back in September of last year. That's mostly why she's been trying to spend so much time with the Jonas's.
She couldn't believe that it was finally June, school was out and she was just getting off the plane with Aunt Denise, "How have rehearsals been going for him?" she asked her Godmother, looking over at the older woman.
"They have been going good, Uncle Kev has been sending me videos of some of his rehearsals. Nick's really been working on his "Broadway" voice. Half the time it doesn't even sound like him." she was beyond proud of her middle son... they all were.
"I can't wait to be with you guys for the rest of the summer. Especially with what's going on. As far as I know the divorce is final tomorrow." Melissa sighed, looking down at the ground as they made their way to get their suitcases.
"Everything will be okay love, worst comes to worst, you have us. I know your mom was talking about moving out of state. And I know you definitely don't want to live with your father... so I can see if Uncle Kevin and I can get custody of you." She said softly, "We can see... no promises though babe." she pointed her finger at the teen.
About an hour later, the van was pulling up in front of the Queen's Theatre, where Nick was rehearsing for the show. Melissa was somehow nervous to see her boyfriend, as she hadn't seen him all that much in the past few weeks since he basically moved here to do Les Miserables.
Soon she saw Nick standing in the theatre talking to one of his co-stars, back facing her. So she did what she did best and snuck up on the teen, and as she got closer to him. Her hands placed went over his eyes, standing on her tippy toes since she's so short. "Guess who." she smirked.
"Hmmm... I don't know, is it my beautiful girlfriend?" he guessed, resting his hands on hers, and turned around, smiling big at her. "I missed you angel." he whispered, kissing her lightly. ——— {June 20th, 2010 London, UK Nick- 17|Mel-15}
2:30pm-London Time.
"They would yell, they would scream, they were fighting it out She would hope, she would pray, she was waiting it out Holding on to a dream While she watches these walls fall down"
Melissa's mom had just texted her to let her know that everything was final, that her and Melissa's father were finally legally separated.
In a way, the young girl was elated that there was going to be no more fighting, no more anxiety... but then in another sense... she was devastated. She never thought that things would come to this. That her parents would come to hate each other so much; that they would fall out of love with one another.
