{August 6th, 2013 Dallas, TX Gexa Energy Pavilion Nick-20|Mel-19}
It was the hometown show... at least it was for Nick. Nothing could ruin this show, no one could cause anything bad to happen... right?
The boys had flown out one of Melissa'a best friends to be with them on tour for about a week, her name was Rachel. The girls had gotten so excited about the show and had ran all around the backstage area that the two teens had decided, "well since Rachel has her license and Melissa couldn't possibly drive... let's go get some slurpees before the show" yah? Well let's see what happens... ————— The two girls were singing at the top of their lungs as they drove down a back road, they were giggling like crazy as they sang. Just like old times, just being together and being happy..
Neither one of the girls were paying attention as the trees passed them one by one, and the road just seemed to get more and more curvy as they kept driving. Before either of the teens knew what was happening, there was a loud horn blaring somewhere around the small car. There were lights, and the sound of metal crashing into metal, and many pairs of tires trying to skid to a stop.
Melissa let out a blood-curdling scream as her body was thrown into immense pain. And before either of the girls could process what was happening, their world started to fade to black. ———- Denise was standing backstage, watching her boys perform onstage. With everything going on back there, she didn't even realize that the girls weren't back yet. That was until she felt her phone vibrating in her hands, seeing Melissa and Nick's bright smiles take up her phone screen, "Hello?" she asked, stepping away.
"Is this Denise Jonas?"
"This is she, may I ask who I'm speaking to? And why do you have Melissa's phone?" Denise asked, her heart stopping as fear immediately overtook her body.
"This is Officer Mace from the Dallas Police Department, Melissa and I presume one of the girl's friends was in a severe car accident and are about to be in transit to the nearest hospital." the police officer spoke sadly.
Tears immediately welled up in the older woman's eyes, "To the hospital right outside Dallas, correct?"
"Yes m'am. I have to give them the girl's belongings now so they can get going. I pray everything will be okay. Goodbye."
"Bye... t-thanks." Denise said softly, before hanging up and running to find her husband and let him know what was going on, "do we wait for them to get off stage?"
Kevin Sr. thought for a second, "I know he is gonna be so pissed... but we should wait till after. You go call Cindy and have her call Rachel's parents, then head to the hospital. I'll wait for them to get off stage. They only have 5 songs left anyways." he sighed, and Denise nodded and went on her way to the hospital. ————— The show just finished, and the boys were walking off stage, beyond happy and high off the adrenaline. "That show was crazy!" Joe exclaimed as they were handed towels to dry off with.
