after filling their stomachs, they were finally back on the road and on their way to east river. Elenor was driving and Liam was in the passenger's seat while the rest of them were at the back.

"If the league was protecting us from the tracer that was shooting at us, what makes them so bad?" Ruby asked curiously.

"the enemy of my enemy is my friend?" Chubs started and scoffed.

"yea like that ever works"

"the woman that I met risked a lot to get me out. She seemed okay" Ruby told them.

"some shady lady kidnaps you and you think it's alright?" Elenor looked at her through thre reerview mirror with a raised eyebrow.

"you were hanging with the wrong people." Liam told her.

"yea like did she lure you with candy from the panel van or something?" Chubs asked and scoffed.

"you weren't there. she said that the league wanted to help me and I ran away" Ruby said.

"What if I was wrong? what if they can help?" Ruby questioned.

"You don't want help from the league okay!" Ruby was shocked at Liam's outburst. Elenor used one hand and reach out and take his hand, soothing it with her thumb to calm him down. Liam held her hand gratefully and calmed down a little.

"come on Zu, time for math class." Chubs told her and brought her to the back of the van to teach her math. Liam felt bad for his outburst and looked at her before turning back.

"look, my brother joined the league first, and he's always right, so I joined too. They just made us so many promises, taught us how to use our powers, and first it was on little things like dummies, smaller stuff-" Liam stopped talking, thinking about the time he was in the league. It was hard for him to talk about his time in the league and Elenor knew that so she squeezed his hand to comfort him and he smiled gratefully at her. Elenor could see that she wanted to know more and she sighed and helped Liam continue.

"and then they taught them how to break an arm and Liam never signed up to be a soilder so he left." Elenor explained. She decided not to tell her why Liam had joined the league since he never brought it up.

"and I would die before I go back." Liam told her with a determined look on his face.

"they're fighting a war, doesn't that require them to be strong?" Ruby asked.

"Strong yea, but cruel and reckless? no. Leave that to the government." Liam told her.

"they are like the soldiers at the camps that keep the kids and i'm pretty sure you don't ant to be like them." Elenor added.

"there was nothing cruel about what she did, she rescued me, she saved my life." Ruby told them and Elenor is getting annoyed that she isn't listening to them.

"For what?" Liam asked and Elenor knew he was getting annoyed too. Zu and Chubs also felt it and looked up at them.

"I don't know. I don't even know what's going on. But for the first time in 6 years, someone was nice to me. So i'm just saying, my experience is a little different from yours." Ruby explained.

"So why did you run away from her huh?" Elenor asked and Ruby looked down, not knowing how to answer.

"The leagues not your friend okay? You made the right choice, trust me" Liam told her.

"Why should I trust you?" okay this girl is getting on Elenor's nerve and she wanted to just stop driving and let her out there and then. She already put them all in more danger with the league and the gang still decided to save her butt and this is how she repays them?

"look Ruby, I don't give 2 f*cks if you trust us or not but sooner or later you're gonna learn the only ones who can help us are us. None of the adults are gonna help us, they are afraid of us. you should know that by now." Elenor looked at ruby through the mirror and saw that she looked down deep in thought. Now it was Liam's turn to sooth Elenor's hand and Elenor turned to him and smiled.

The rest of the drive was silent and Elenor had some time to think, she thought about her parents, about how they were doing and she missed them terribly. but she didn't know if they still remebered her, seeing that she never saw them in 8 years. But she had a new family now and she is grateful to her new family. Maybe one day she will get to see her family again but for now, she will stick to her new family and she couldn't be more happy. She drove into a parking lot next to a motel and parked the minivan. They had decided to spend the night at a motel as both Liam and Elenor were both beat.

Once they got to their rooms, Elenor told Ruby she could shower first since she just came out from camp. Ruby thanked her and got a towel and some spare clothes from her bag and went into the toilet. After she was done showering, she got out and was all cleaned up. Elenor then told Zu she could shower and Zu happily went in. After Zu came out, she told the boys they could shower first but they insisted that she showered first and she reluctantly agreed and went in and after that Chubs went to shower and Liam was last. They then decided that Ruby, Zu and Elenor would sleep on the bed and Chubs and Liam would slep on a flat mattress on the ground.

"I never got to thank you guys for whatever you've done for me." Ruby said as she climbed on the bed.

"No worries Ruby, we know we kids have to stick together so it was no big deal." Elenor said as Zu crawled onto the bed and Elenor cuddled with Zu to sleep. They were sleeping soundly when suddenly, Zu's arms fell on ruby's hands, giving ruby access to her mind. Ruby was brought to the day Liam, Chubs, Elenor and Jack broke the kids out of camp.

She could see the snow falling from the sky and she could hear the alarms blaring. She saw a bunch of kids running towards and past her towards the gate. She saw zu running behind the big group of kids and she saw Liam, Elenor and Jack using their powers to bring down the fence and kids running out of the camp. She saw how the soldiers were shooting and many kids fell onto the ground, dead. She saw Elenor running to a guy, crying and screaming for him to wake up, but he was dead, the others coming to her and telling her they should go. She saw Elenor's angered expression as she walked towards the soldiers and her eyes glowed black and fire coming out of her mouth, burning the guards and the camp to the ground. She saw how Zu fell and kids were running around her and saw Elenor using her superspeed to run to Zu and carrying her out of the camp before running back and getting Chubs too. She saw how Elenor used her superspeed to bring all the kids out from camp and using telekinesis to bring the buildings to the ground and crushing the remaining soldiers at camp.

Both Zu and Ruby jolted up awake and that made Elenor wake up. Zu was breathing heavily and turned around to hug Elenor and Elenor hugged back.

"Hey, hey, it's okay Zu, it's just a dream." Elenor said aas she rubbed Zu's back. By then, Liam and Chubs had woken up to and was looking at what had happened.

"Can I see your dream?" Elenor asked softly and Zu nodded her head. Elenor's eyes glowed black as she looked through Zu's dream which she then help Zu calm down. Elenor would often do this whenever any of her friends have a nightmares like this. She will use her powers to see the dream and after that help them calm down. She wouldn't make them forget about it because it would be robbing them of their memories but Elenor knew how to help them calm down. It have been helpful in many ocassions and Elenor was happy that she could be of help.

After calming Zu down, Elenor kissed Zu's forehead and told her to go back to sleep. Elenor looked and Liam and Chubs and gave them a reassuring smile and they both laid back down. Elenor tucked Zu back into bed before reaching out for Liam's hand and holding his hand to sleep.

"Are you okay zu?" Ruby asked worriedly and Zu nodded her head in reassurance and the 5 of them went back to sleep, waiting for the arrival of the next day.
