!!WARNING: SOME SPOILERS AHEAD FOR HOGWARTS LEGACY!!

Sebastian Sallow? I hadn't seen him in over a year now. If you asked me what he looked like, I wouldn't be able to describe even a single feature. If you wanted to know the last thing that I said to him, there's no way in hell I could recall. Even the name was something I barely remembered. He was easily forgotten, no one important to me at all. Someone like that couldn't possibly live in my memory and certainly not my heart.

Now, if you asked me was I lying?

I absolutely was.

Despite me trying to force Sebastian into an enigmatic figment of my imagination, he was most certainly not that. No, he was someone that profoundly affected my life; right down to the day he left. Disappeared completely without so much as a warning.

It was at the end of my fifth year, during the ridiculous House Cup Ceremony that I 'won' for Slytherin. I'll remember that day vividly until the day I die.

The atmosphere in the Great Hall was electric, buzzing with anticipation as students filled every seat. It was the moment we had all been waiting for - the grand unveiling of the house cup winner. As I stood in the doorway, my heart raced with excitement, taking in the sea of faces before me.

A group of Hufflepuffs scurried past me, their eyes gleaming with hope as they made their way to their designated seats. The air was thick with nervous energy, as if the very walls of Hogwarts held their breath in anticipation.

Headmaster Black had already begun his speech, his voice resonating through the hall. But just as he was about to reveal the victor, a sudden interruption halted his words. It was Professor Weasley, a mischievous twinkle in her eyes, who stepped forward to make an unexpected announcement.

With a flourish, she awarded me the final points, the missing puzzle piece that would determine the fate of Slytherin House. Gasps of surprise and disbelief rippled through the crowd, as the realization sank in - Slytherin had soared to the top, snatching victory.

"I suppose we have our winner!" Headmaster Black announced as the room shifted and green fireworks erupted over our heads.

In that moment, the Great Hall exploded into a symphony of cheers and applause. The walls reverberated with the thunderous sound of triumph, as Slytherins leapt to their feet, their faces beaming with pride.

As the crowd swarmed around me, I scanned their faces, eagerly searching for the one person who mattered most to me. Despite the chaos of people jumping and clapping around me, I remained determined to find Sebastian. He hadn't made an appearance at the start of the feast, but perhaps he had snuck in later.

In my desperate attempts to locate him I locked eyes with Ominis who was still seated at the table, clapping with everyone else. I know things had ended badly between all three of us but part of me had hoped to see them sitting next to each other like so many times before.

Although we weren't as close after everything, Ominis remained relatively the same, it was Sebastian who had been acting strange ever since. He became distant, refusing to engage in conversation with anyone and isolating himself, often lingering around the DADA tower.

Curiosity had even got the better of me, leading me to venture into the undercroft on multiple occasions, hoping to catch a glimpse of either of them, but my efforts were in vain. So now that he wasn't here at the ceremony, I couldn't say I wasn't surprised but more so hurt.
