As the two of us continued to sit in silence, I found myself captivated by Sebastian, who was leaning over the edge of the boat, playfully splashing the water.

"Watch out! If you keep teasing the water like that, you might just find yourself in the clutches of that squid," I chuckled, snatching up the oars from the floor of the boat.

"What are you doing?" he asked, his attention back on me now.

"I was going to start rowing back? We aren't going to finish the list and-."

"Whoever said we couldn't finish this? Hand me those oars." With a gentle yet determined grasp, he effortlessly relieved me of the paddles and plunged them into the glistening water. In an instant, he propelled the boat forward, gliding across the serene lake with an unwavering resolve.

"Sebastian," I groaned, feeling the exhaustion seep into my bones as the sun began its descent, casting a chill in the air. "I feel drained, and it's only getting colder. Are you even listening?" I pleaded, but my words seemed to fall on deaf ears as he continued to ignore me and rowed the boat.

As I sat on the there, my curiosity got the best of me and I couldn't help but wonder what he was up to. But then I thought, what's the point of arguing with him? I was stuck on the boat either way, so I decided to just sit back and wait.

As we sailed closer, my eyes were drawn to a tiny island nestled in the heart of the lake. It was a sight to behold, and I couldn't help but wonder how I had never laid eyes on it before. Perhaps it was because I usually steered clear of flying over the water when I could.

With one mighty pull of the oars, he expertly guided the boat to the shore. I watched in awe as his muscles bulged and flexed, sweat glistening on his forehead and his neck as it dripped down. It was a moment of pure strength and determination, and I couldn't help but stare because he looked like a Greek god.

"Ok we can get out now," he announced, jumping out of the boat onto the ground.

I stood up and straightened myself out, preparing to hop over the edge before I noticed an outstretched hand in front of me. Wow he could be a gentleman, offering me his hand. I took it and jumped down out of the boat, landing next to him.

"What is this place? We aren't going to find a Grindylow here," I asked curiously.

"We aren't looking for a Grindylow...the professor won't know if we actually found it or not so a little fib won't hurt."

The sun was now lowering and the atmosphere soon turned much darker. Scattered about I could see little sparkles flittering about as the lacewing flies spread through the air.

"Sebastian..." I groaned.

For a brief moment I felt like I had been transported back to the past. Like it was fifth year all over again and Sebastian and I were off on some wild adventure together. My heart started fluttering but I suppressed any excitement and nostalgia, not wanting to get ahead of myself.

"Follow me," he said directly, his face expressionless as he started up the hill.

With bated breath, I trailed behind him as he guided us up the steep slope of the island towards a towering tree. My gut twisted with apprehension, wondering what kind of trouble he was about to drag us into. The trust I once had in him had crumbled away during our long separation, leaving me feeling uneasy and uncertain.

"It's just up ahead, we have to hurry before the sun fully goes down," he urged me on, picking up his pace.

Eventually we reached the top of the slope and stopped next to the tree. The sun was just about to drop below the horizon and envelop us in darkness.
