Chapter 30:

"Daddy? Tita Pretty?" we were brought back to reality by the voice of this sweet little girl. Bada looked at her still hugging me. "Y-yes, baby?" duon 'ko lang napagtanto na umiiyak pala si Bada. She let go of me and I saw her wipe her tears away. "Why cry?" sabi ng bata. "Nothing, baby. Daddy's just happy" those words made my heart skip a beat dahil ang tagal 'ko ng hindi naririnig ang mga salitang 'yun kay Bada. "Do you want to eat?" tanong 'ko sa bata at sakto naman ay tapos na ang niluluto ng dad niya. She nodded at inupo ito ni Bada sa high chair. Round table ang dining table ni Bada dahil silang dalawa lang naman daw ni Aurelia ang nandito at para daw hindi mahirap pakainin ang bata.

Bada sat with Aurelia, feeding her. Ako naman ay pinapanuod lang sila. "Blow muna, it's hot" sabi ni Bada at hinipan naman ito ni Aurelia. Bada looks so happy with Aurelia in her life and I don't want to intervene with that as of now. Kaya by just watching them be happy together, I'm contented with that. "Daddy, are you going again tomorrow?" sabi ng bata na may halong lungkot sa mukha nito. "Yes, baby. Daddy has work tomorrow." sabi ni Bada at nakita 'kong paiyak na ang bata. She really is a clingy kid, just like her dad. "I can take care of her" sabi 'ko naman agad. "Wala pa naman akong work for a month so I'd be glad to be with her everyday." I smiled at Bada.

Nakita 'kong lumiwanag ang mukha ni Aurelia at nanghihingi ng permiso sa tatay nito. "Are you sure?" she asked, also seemingly excited. I nodded and continued eating. "Yaaay!" sabi ni Aurelia. Hindi 'ko pa nakikita si Bada na sumubo kaya naman ay inalok 'ko na ako ang magpapakain kay Aurelia. She smiled at me and mouthed the words thank you. Hindi naman ako hirap pakainin si Aurelia dahil mabait na bata naman ito at sumusunod agad.

Nang matapos kaming lahat ay sinabi 'kong ako na ang magliligpit ng lahat but Bada said no. Aurelia on the other hand pulled my air and said na we should watch TV. I turned it on naman agad and put on some cartoons. She was sitting on my lap facing the TV while I was brushing her hair. I fell inlove with Aurelia immediately the first time I saw her. Not only because she's Bada's daughter but there's something with her that makes everyone like her.

"Anak, enough TV na. Brush your teeth na." sabi ni Bada with a very loving voice. Bigla namang yumakap sa akin ang bata na parang kukunin ito ng ibang tao. "You want tita pretty to brush your teeth?" I felt her head nod even if her face is buried on my neck. Tumayo na ako at dumiretso sa CR where Bada is standing holding Aurelia's toothbrush in her hand. "Say ahhh, baby" sabi 'ko at parehas naman silang ngumanga. Aurelia giggled seeing her dad open her mouth wide open too. "Si Aurelia lang dapat eh." sabi 'ko. "Sabi mo kasi baby eh hindi 'ko naman alam kung sinong baby kaya pati ako nag ahh" pag explain ni Bada na ikinatawa 'ko rin.

I finished brushing Aurelia's teeth and also washed her face and hands already. "Bed time story!" sabi ni Aurelia sa daddy niya. Bada nodded and picked her up from the sink kaya ako naman ay ddiretso na sana sa salas pero biglang sumigaw si Aurelia. "Tita pretty come!" sabi nito. I followed them ahead and saw how Bada tucked her in and started reading her a bed time story. Aurelia wanted me to lay beside them so I did but not entirely dahil madumi pa ang suot 'ko. Just enough for me to run my fingers through Aurelia's hair para makatulog din ito.

When she fell asleep, I kissed her forehead and went out of the room already. Magpapaalam na sana ako kay Bada na uuwi na ako when she suddenly kissed me. Hindi na ako nagdalawang isip at sinagot din ang mga halik nito. Magkalapit lang ang kwarto nila ni Aurelia kaya naman madali nitong binuksan ang pintuan papunta sa kwarto niya. Sinandal niya ako sa may pintuan at nilock ito.

"We have to stop meeting like this." sabi ni Bada. Natawa naman ako at pinalupot ang mga braso ko sa leeg niya. Dahan dahan niyang tinanggal ang pagkabutones ng slacks na suot 'ko para naman matanggap ang pagkakatuck in ng long sleeves 'ko. I can hear her groan dahil parang natatagalan na ito sa nangyayari. I took off her jersey dahil kahit ako din hindi na makapag pigil.
