(Y/N) spent New Year's Eve and New Year's Day with her family at home, as did the rest of her class with their own families.

(Y/N) indulged in feasts cooked by Obasan's perfected talents. Her time with her family was needed. It made her feel relaxed. It took her mind off what happened in (B/P). She didn't need her father. She needed the family she had now.

What she had told Todoroki was correct. Kenji wasn't her father, but he didn't need to be. Masako wasn't her mother, but she didn't need to be either. The unconventionality of her family was part of the reason she loved it so much. It was part of her.

As the household cheered for the New Year, (Y/N) knew she didn't need anything more.

(Y/N) entered the UA dorms with her backpack filled with the essentials she had taken home for the weekend trip. The bottom half of her face was covered by a thick scarf, protecting her from the blistering cold of the outside. She slowly unravelled it off her neck, heading up the stairs.

"(Y/N)," A voice suddenly spoke from beside her, catching her off-guard.

The said girl yelped, her eyes flying wide and turning to meet Todoroki's gaze. "Jesus, Shoto, you scared me." She breathed. "What's up?"

"I have something to ask of you," he said nothing more.

(Y/N) eyed him suspiciously but followed him as he ascended the stairs nonetheless. They stopped at a random corridor, void of their classmates.

"I would like for you to complete your work study at my father's agency."

(Y/N) looked at him in surprise. When she had been offered a place to intern at Endeavor's agency, Todoroki was very adamant about her not taking the place. "Um-"

"I have already asked Midoriya and Bakugou. They have said yes." Todoroki added.

(Y/N)'s face only grew with puzzlement. "Okay." She nodded. "I'm confused. Why do you want us there now when last time you were pretty against me going." She voiced.

Todoroki was quiet for a second. He took a step closer to her. "My father is trying to repent for his past mistakes." He murmured. "I do not fully trust him nor want to fraternise with him any more than I did before. However, I am beginning to use my fire more, and, as much as I don't like it, I need his guidance. However, I gave him an ultimatum that if I am to work with him, I would be allowed to bring classmates alongside me."

(Y/N) took a moment to process his words. "Right, okay." She nodded slowly in acknowledgment. "And why me?" She questioned.

Todoroki faltered for a moment. "Because you're my friend..." He mumbled, his gaze dropping to his feet bashfully. "And... as odd as it is, my father and you seem to have an oddly compatible relationship. I feel he will help you." He admitted.

(Y/N) didn't fully know what to do with what Todoroki had told her, not exactly sure what he meant, but accepted it nonetheless. "Okay." she nodded. "I'll join you guys. Working alongside Midoriya is probably a good thing at the moment."

Todoroki smiled a tiny smile. "Thank you."
