(Y/N) headed up to her room after bidding goodbye to Midoriya. She closed the door softly behind her and immediately dropped to the floor, leaning back against her dorm door. She buried her face in her hands, emitting a low and constant moan. She squeezed her eyes shut tightly, her face contorting unnaturally with discomfort. She didn't feel good. She was nervous. And scared. She didn't know what the future held and was sure that she wouldn't see much of it; this increased with every little event that occurred. The stakes were getting higher and higher. (Y/N) wasn't going to back down but she knew she was risking everything and everyone for a plan that may or may not work.
She was sure it would - but would it?
She pulled her face from her palms to reveal bloodshot eyes and tear-stained cheeks. She couldn't remember the last time she'd cried. She felt refreshed, on top of the overall shittiness that shrouded every other feeling. She inhaled deeply and crawled across the room to the balcony window. She slid open the glass and slithered across the terrace awkwardly to the railing of the balcony. She slipped her legs between the bars and hugged the rails close to her. She peered at the view. It was not what she remembered. The city she once looked upon was now an enclosed fortress trapping the people within and sealing the villains out. She felt trapped - but that's likely because she was so used to being independent.
(Y/N) let out a deep sigh and let her eyes drop downwards. She was terrified. Utterly and irrevocably terrified. She didn't know if she'd live to see the next few days and the thought of leaving everyone she loved behind was daunting. She inhaled sharply before digging her phone from her pocket and immediately dialling Himiko.
"(Y/N)!" Himiko gleaned from her position at the hideout. "How goes the reunion? Was it as adorable as ever?"
(Y/N) wanted to smile but she couldn't will herself to do so with the depressive feeling in her heart. "In two days, we're doing it." (Y/N) said firmly.
"Seriously?" Himiko gaped. "That was quick! Wanna get going that fast, huh?" She hummed.
(Y/N) grumbled. "I just want to get this over with."
"I get it!" Himiko cheered. "Can't lie! I'm excited! Can't wait to see Shigs blow up!"
(Y/N) pulled a face of absurdity even though she knew Himiko could not see it. "Yeah, well, there's been a little change." She mumbled.
"I don't like that tone," Himiko warned. "What happened? Who did you talk to?"
"Himiko," (Y/N) hissed. "Look, you're not gonna like the sound of this but I can't-" (Y/N) inhaled deeply and lowered her volume. "I can't kill Shigaraki."
There was a long period of silence from the other end of the line. "What?"
"Himiko-" (Y/N) tried to save herself.
"What?!" Himiko exclaimed. "Are you being serious?! Seriously?!"
(Y/N) rolled her eyes, leaning further against the railing of her balcony. "I can't do it, alright?" She finally snapped. "I spoke with Midoriya and he said something that changed my mind."
