"Uh, (Y/N), you're not gonna believe this," Himiko spoke through her earpiece. Her tone was apprehensive.
(Y/N) approached her phone on the table in the apartment and picked it up, holding it against her ear. "What happened?" She was cautious as she spoke.
"Izuku has left UA!" Himiko exclaimed. "He's gone vigilante! Like you! Or- like me?"
"You're not me, Himiko." (Y/N) sighed.
"It gets confusing, you know!" Himiko whined. "But he's gone! Just left notes outside of all the dorms!"
(Y/N) slid into a rickety chair at the table and leaned against it. "Really?" She muttered. "I didn't expect that."
"Me neither! Everyone is really shocked! I think Bakugou is gonna try and find him though." Himiko sat on the edge of (Y/N)'s bed as she spoke. She cooed at (Y/N)'s cat in the moments when (Y/N) was speaking.
"Not surprised to hear that." (Y/N) hummed. "What does the note say?"
"You want me to read it out loud or bring it to you?" Himiko wondered. (Y/N)'s cat jumped onto the bed and began to rub its head against Himiko's hand. Himiko smiled widely at the purring.
(Y/N) pondered the question. She wasn't sure when she'd next see Himiko but she did want to see the letter in person. "Give it to me when you next see me." (Y/N) nodded.
That time didn't come for at least 24 hours until Himiko managed to separate from Class 1A and meet (Y/N) and Jin back at the apartment. She handed the letter to (Y/N) as soon as she got in. She'd read the whole thing when she first received it but hadn't looked at it since. She eyed (Y/N) curiously as (Y/N) thanked her and exited to the balcony, closing the glass door behind her for some privacy.
(Y/N) breathed in the fresh air as she read the words Midoriya had written.
'To Yamasaki,
This hurts to write but I have decided to leave UA. Remaining in the dorms and with you all is too dangerous. Shigaraki, or All For One, depending on how you look at it, have eyes on me. I cannot risk luring them to you all. I care about you too much. I've decided to go out on my own instead. I will be a hero on the street. I will continue to do my duty in a way that does not put you all in danger.
This is not your fault. Please know that. We were not close when we first began at UA at the beginning of the school year. We were mere classmates. But we have grown closer, especially since the events in the Shie Hassaikai compound. You are a powerful and strong hero. You have endured so much and continue to push through all obstacles for the greater good. You are an inspiration, Yamasaki. I strive to be the number one hero and I can wholeheartedly say that you are one of the biggest competitors for that position. You are kind. You are brave. You are smart. You are strong. You have all the qualities a hero needs in this world.
