(Y/N) headed down to the common room, her stomach rumbling with hunger. She wasn't normally one to have breakfast but hadn't eaten when she'd got in last night and her stomach yearned for food.
"Yamasaki!" Uraraka gasped once she caught sight of the said person coming into the main living quarters from the stairwell. "Have you seen?!" She beamed excitedly as she shot up from her seat on the sofa.
(Y/N) looked at her curiously. "No?" She responded with a raised brow, still groggy from her tiresome sleep.
Uraraka shot towards (Y/N), snatched her arm, and dragged her towards the sofa, setting her down next to Tsuyu with a firm push on the shoulders. The majority of the class was up and mingling in the living room before their classes for the day. They looked simultaneously tense, excited, and curious. Their expression made (Y/N) feel anxious. "What happened? Did something bad happen?" She panicked, her eyes now going wide and her gaze darting across her 1A classmates.
"No, no," Uraraka shook her head as she slid a tablet towards (Y/N) and onto (Y/N)'s lap.
The screen showed an article with the headline; 'Two Students Break UA and Shiketsu Rivalry With Amazing Teamwork.' The main picture showed an image of (Y/N) in the air, held up by the winds produced by Yoarashi. They both wore their individual school uniforms along with determined expressions plastered on their faces. 'Atomic and Gale Force, a UA student and Shiketsu student respectively, faced a villain in the streets of urban Japan together. The two schools have suffered rivalry for decades. These new young heroes break all stereotypes and push all feelings aside for the greater good!'
(Y/N) gaped at the screen. "Is this bad?" She meekly muttered, her eyes flittering upwards to the people before her.
"I think it's great!" Hagakure cheered. "You and your boyfriend, a dynamic duo!"
"Hagakure, I swear to god!" (Y/N) hissed with a twitch of her eye - a long-running frustration clearly. "Not my boyfriend!"
"Oh, but you look so cute together!" Hagakure squealed.
"She said they're not dating so they're not dating!" Midoriya laughed, but his laugh was painful and strained. The class turned to him with confused expressions. "Stop looking at me." He squeaked. He shot up from his seat on the sofa, mumbling to himself as he exited the premises completely.
"That was weird, right?" (Y/N) voiced as her eyes followed Midoriya's escape from the dorms.
"Very." Sero hummed.
(Y/N) looked back at the screen. "This is good then, right?" There was still a hint of tentativeness in her tone.
"Of course it is!" Mina nodded profusely. "It's putting you further on the map! I think it's very good!"
"Yeah, you're right." (Y/N) smiled.
The day went on like normal. The end of the school day came around and the class slowly made their way back to the dorms.
"Ugh! It's spring break but we can't even enjoy it because our work studies are still going!" Mina complained.
"So much for having time to relax," Kaminari grumbled.
"It says we have an expeditionary operation." Uraraka read aloud as her eyes trailed the words on her phone.
"So we have a work field trip?" Tsu replied, leaning over Uraraka to read the message.
"For real?" Kaminari piped up. "That's weird. It's the same for us."
"Our agency too," Midoriya added.
"Yeah, he's right." (Y/N) confirmed, also reading the notice on her phone.
The class chimed with more confirmation about the operation. It seemed as though every student taking part in a work-study was recruited for this unknown mission, which meant a lot of hero agencies were being called in.
Whatever it was for.
It was big.
