(Y/N) awoke with a start. She shot up with a gasp, her eyes flew wide and her heart instantly broke into a sprint. Her skin was caked with sweat. Her frazzled eyes frantically scanned the area in which she'd awoken. She knew she was in a bed. She recognised a drip next to the bed which was hooked to the crook of her elbow. She was in a room but the walls were bare and unpainted. The floor was the same. It looked as though she were in a concrete box, which was not far from the truth.
She let out a long shallow breath as she sidled out of the creaky bed. She grabbed the IV pole and used it to help her up. There was a fiery pain in her leg but she refused to acknowledge it. She pushed forward. She waddled towards the door and placed her hand on the handle. It was cold. She pressed down on it but before she could pull the door open, it was pushed open from the otherside, prompting her to stumble backwards. Her grip clutched onto the pole tightly to steady herself.
"No. Back to bed." Aizawa scolded. He pointed to the bed with his hand already on (Y/N)'s arm, guiding her to the mattress.
(Y/N) did as she was told obediently though she didn't quite know why. She perched on the edge of the bed but did not turn to lie down. Instead, she stared at Aizawa with her hand still on the IV as if she was going to leap up at any moment.
When she spoke, her voice was gravelly. "Am I in trouble?"
Aizawa thought about the question for longer than anticipated. His silence put (Y/N) on edge. "The city is slowly being rebuilt. People like Cementoss are working overtime, more time than overtime even, putting everything back to the way it was. Everyone has been displaced so getting everyone shelter has been difficult. The vill- The people from Tartarus have been appropriately detained, including those known as Stain, Twice, and Himiko Toga. Everyone you know is fine. Your family is together. Your friends have been annoying about seeing you but are safe." He paused to breathe. (Y/N) was attentive as she listened. "No, you're not in trouble, Yamasaki. When the police find out you're awake you'll be questioned a lot. You basically held the entire city hostage and did a pretty good deal of property damage. But I will do anything and everything in my power to make sure you walk away with nothing but the label of a hero, do you understand?"
It was (Y/N)s turn to be quiet this time. Her gaze had gradually fallen to her lap as Aizawa spoke to her and now they rested there. She let the words settle in her mind before replying. Finally, after about a minute of silence, she returned her eyes back to Aizawa who was watching her closely. "Do I deserve that?"
"Yes." Aizawa was quick to respond. He did not hesitate, not even for a fraction of a second. "You deserved to be a hero here and no one could convince me that your place is better suited elsewhere."
(Y/N) smiled. She felt touched by his words. She gulped before responding. "God, I hope you're right."
Before the police were alerted of (Y/N)'s consciousness, she was examined by doctors to ensure her health was up to par; it was coming about just fine.
