The next day came quickly and just as the sun fully emerged on the horizon, (Y/N) found herself waiting on the curb outside the dorms with gleaming eyes like a child on their first day of primary school. She expected to feel nervous or anxious, or maybe even fearful, but she felt serene calmness, alongside a bubbling excitement that simply wanted to see her friends again. She hated to admit it, but she found herself missing the person she was when she was with Jin, Himiko, and Chizome. She felt powerful. She felt responsible. Now, she was a schoolgirl again. The sudden juxtaposition was odd.
She had been waiting for five minutes when her attention was pulled from hearing out for a car's engine and back towards the dorms upon hearing her name being called. She turned to see Kirishima and Kaminari approaching her. She stared at them with a puzzled expression.
"Where are you going?" Kaminari asked.
They both wore the face of a mother who had lost her child in a crowd.
"We asked Aizawa but he wouldn't tell us." Kirishima added with a frown.
Kaminari crossed his arms over his chest and kept his eyes securely fixed on (Y/N).
(Y/N) felt suddenly vulnerable as the victim of their stern looks. "I'm going to see Jin and Himiko." She answered honestly, though her hesitance was evident in her slow tone.
The boys' faces only increased with concern.
"Really?" Kaminari said meekly.
(Y/N) nodded.
"Why?" Kirishima asked. His tone was breathily exasperated. It was as if he'd been fixated on the question for days on end, which was likely.
"I want to see if they're okay." (Y/N) shrugged.
"But they attacked you!" Kaminari exclaimed, earning an elbow in the ribs from Kirishima. He groaned painfully.
Kirishima too looked conflicted but did not voice it. He swallowed his worry. "Are you going to be okay alone?"
(Y/N) instantly shook her head. She cracked a smile to ease their worries but all three of them knew it was false and pained. "If I'm being honest, I really wish I could bring you guys along. But they're really strict with all this stuff. Even Aizawa can't come."
"What?" Kaminari gasped, his eyes wide.
"No one can find out where they're staying. I need to sign an NDA to keep my mouth shut."
"Oh." Kirishima sighed. "Well-" His words were interrupted by black car pulling up the road and stopping right next to the pavement behind the three students. Kirishima's eyes lingered on the car with an anxious look. He returned his gaze to (Y/N). He offered her a comforting smile. "We'll be here when you get back."
(Y/N) smiled. "Thank you."
She turned to the car and opened the passenger seat. No one else was there. She gulped before climbing into the sleek vehicle and shutting the door behind her. She settled into the seat next to the window and stared at a black piece of glass blocking her from seeing the outside. Turning her head to the front of the car, she was met with another black screen. She was restricted from all sight just as she was told.
