(Y/N) moved across the rooftops swiftly

(Y/N) moved across the rooftops swiftly.Masked by the night, the darkness shrouded her identity from the world. Her eyes were a mere slit in the middle of her mask and her hood. She was stealthy as she moved. When she needed to move through the air, she used solidified oxygen slabs as opposed to the quicker and more efficient make-shift explosions. Her new method was too loud and would attract too much attention. Silence was the tool of those who wanted to be unseen.

She dropped down a fire escape, slinking into an alley and returning to the flat. The night was uneventful. Those who usually wreaked havoc seemed to have learned their lesson after the several beatings they had received a few nights before, although they never saw the assailant who had caught them in their destructive acts, for (Y/N) never got close to who she dealt with. She resided on the rooftops, looking down at those who thought the city was their playhouse now that fear had grabbed a stronghold of the country.

She moved through the night quickly. She always felt bad leaving Jin alone for so many hours given his past and mental state. He was a grown man, yes, but he was fragile. She knew he had overcome many problems with his identity and that he was on an upward slope towards recovery, but she always worried that he would relapse into panic when he was alone. This meant she was always efficient while she was out. She scoured every square inch of her self-designated area rapidly and closely before returning.

"So you must be Atomic..." A sudden voice emerged from the end of the alley (Y/N) had dropped down into. "Although, you've abandoned that name now, haven't you?"

(Y/N) spun around with wide eyes. At the end of the dark alleyway was a figure completely masked by the ominous darkness. Two red beady eyes pierced the black background and stared into (Y/N)'s soul like a demon's spawn had risen from hell, ready to smite her.

(Y/N) exhaled a shaky breath. "Who are you?" She tried to keep her voice steady but she couldn't suppress the fear that crawled up her spine like a spider she couldn't catch. There was deadly intent in the redness of the stranger's eyes. It was terrifying. "How do you know who I am?" Her voice was slightly muffled by her mask.

"I've been watching you..." The stranger hissed.

(Y/N) gulped. "Who are you?" She repeated. She inhaled sharply, holding her breath with courage, and stalked forward slowly. She held up her hands defensively, ready to strike if necessary.

The stranger did not answer. They instead rushed forward. They were like a bullet, shooting through distance and striking (Y/N). A blade was sliced across her skin, ripping through the short sleeve of the hoodie. Blood spurted outwards and onto the floor below. (Y/N) let out a gasp, followed by a shriek of pain, stumbling away from the attack and clutching her wound with a pained grimace. Her eyes darted to the villain who had attacked her who was standing from a landing crouch and turning to her with an evil smirk. His dark coal-black hair was pulled up into a ponytail. His face was wrapped with sagging bandages which were already beginning to fray.

"The Hero Killer..." (Y/N) gaped.

"You know who I am," Stain smirked, although not surprised by such a fact. His bumpy tongue slipped out from his thin lips, looking to taste the blood he had stained his blade with.

(Y/N)'s eyes narrowed on the red liquid. She boiled it quickly and swiftly, preventing it from being digested by the villain. She ground her teeth together, applying further pressure to her deep gash. "You underestimate me," she hissed. "Your quirk is no match for mine, Hero Killer."

Stain's smirk only deepened. "An ego does not make a hero..."

(Y/N)'s expression grew more irritated. "Realism makes a hero."

Stain stared at her with eyes she could not read. (Y/N) took a few steps away from him, effectively pushing her further into the darkness of the alley.

"What exactly do you want?" She demanded. "I will do you no harm if you just leave."

"Why would I leave when I only just got here?" Stain mused teasingly.

(Y/N) scoffed. She stood up straighter, feeling confidence bloom in her stomach. "If you're not going to leave, I will." She huffed.

Stain shot forward once again, his tongue hanging out of his mouth grossly with the aim to taste (Y/N)'s blood straight from the wound.

(Y/N) was quick to react this time. She shoved herself out of the way, pressing herself against the cobble wall. She bounced off of it quickly and tackled Stain amid his attack. She kicked the sword from his grip. It clanged on the ground noisily. She held him down harshly. "I don't know why you're here but I will not ask again. What do you want?" (Y/N) demanded fiercely.

Stain looked up at her with an unreadable expression for a few seconds before replying in an unusually calm voice. "I have been watching you."

(Y/N) frowned. "And?" She pushed. "What philosophical sonet do you have to say about me?"

Stain sneered. "You are a disgrace to the heroes."

(Y/N)'s brows furrowed with anger. "You seem to have been watching me and yet know nothing about me, huh?" She taunted. "I don't care what you think I am. I am not a hero but neither are you. So don't act all high and mighty. You have killed more than forty heroes, Hero Killer. We are not the same."

"The only worthy hero is All Might," Stain spat.

"You're like a broken record." (Y/N) seethed. She lifted herself off of him, a risk to allow herself to be attacked again but was not surprised as she watched him pull himself up with no effort to pursue further violence. "You've been locked away for quite a bit of time and things have changed. All Might has retired. The world has gone to shit. What it means to be a hero has changed a lot. And this so-called ideal hero you think of is a mere puppet of a system that is flawed and fucking wrong." She maintained fierce eye contact with the villain below her. "Whatever perception you have of me is based on a world which was built of prejudice and privilege, Hero Killer. Either understand that or be left behind." She maintained stern eye-contact with him as she delivered her speech.

Stain stared at her as she spoke. For once, he listened. "You are right." His voice was gravelly. "I have missed a lot. I have been locked away."

(Y/N) stared at him with a scary expression, exuding strength and power. But in front of her was a person who was open and ready to listen. "You kill for the sake of a better society." She noted. "I fight for the same cause... At this point, beggars can't be choosers. So, I have a proposition." She was sure it wasn't a good idea. And yet, she committed to it. Perhaps Himiko was right, she was making an army. "Join me, Hero Killer, and help me make a better society, but on my terms."

Stain contemplated her offer. "For the betterment of society, I shall accept such an invitation, even if it is from a mere student," (Y/N) really didn't feel like a student anymore, "but I must ask one thing."

(Y/N) nodded.

"You must kill me once our objective is completed. End The Hero Killer."

(Y/N) gaped at him. "What-"

"Otherwise, I will not take you up. I must be finished. If not All Might, I choose you, (Y/N)."

(Y/N) gulped thickly. She exhaled a shaky breath. She nodded.
