"This is my friend Semi"
Third Person
Shirabu invited both his uncle and, Semi to step into the house, a veil of uncertainty hanging over him regarding the purpose of his uncle's unexpected visit.
As they entered into the living room, Shirabu voiced his curiosity, "Uncle, what's with the surprise?"
Ren comfortably settled into a double couch, depositing his bags onto the floor with a warm smile. "Had some business in Miyagi, thought, why not pay you guys a visit?" He glanced around, inquiring, "Where is Keisha, by the way?"
Shirabu gestured towards the door. "She's upstairs. I'll call her down." With that, he headed off to summon his sister, leaving his uncle and Semi in awkward silence.
The atmosphere remained winter with unspoken words. Semi hesitated, wary of saying anything that might exacerbate the already uneasy situation after the day's awkward incident.
Finally, Shirabu's Uncle broke the silence. "You must be Kenjirou's friend?"
Semi's nervousness was palpable as he glanced at the older man. "Um, yes, I'm Semi Eita," he responded in a single breath.
A chuckle escaped the Uncle's lips. "No need to be so nervous. I'm not that scary. Ask both Kenjirou and Keisha. I'm the most unserious person out there."
The teens visibly relaxed. "I've heard a lot about you from Kenjirou. You mean a lot to him," Semi added.
"He talks about me, huh? I feel proud." His happiness radiated.
"Sir, are you from Yokohama?" Semi inquired, trying to continue the conversation
"No need to call me sir, call me... Uncle Ren." He tried to ease Semi's nerves.
"Oh, Uncle Ren, are you from Yokohama? I saw that the last train arrived from Yokohama," Semi said, subtly aiming to make a good impression.
"Yes, I am. Have you visited there before?" Ren asked.
"I have once; my cousin lives there." Semi shifted for more comfort.
"Did you check out any tourist attractions?" Ren continued the line of questions.
"Not really. My parents went for business, so I stayed with my cousin in the meantime," explained Semi.
As Ren was about to continue, a voice from the doorway interrupted. "Uncle Ren!" It was Keisha, who quickly approached and exchanged a high-five with her uncle.
"You seriously did not let me know earlier? You're actually so annoying. I have to go in about half an hour for volleyball!" She vented her frustration while taking a seat next to Ren.
"No hello? No how are you, uncle? No how was the trip, uncle?" Ren looked hurt, shaking his head.
"You deserved it. You didn't come during my birthday." Keisha crossed her arms and looked away.
Ren chuckled slightly. "I know I was busy, but I sent my regards and a present."
"Not good enough." Keisha didn't yield.
"Fine, I'll be here for a few days. So, why don't we buy a cake and go out somewhere?" Ren suggested, smiling. "Will that be better?"
As Keisha and her uncle bantered playfully, Shirabu joined Semi, making him jump slightly. "What's with that reaction?" Shirabu asked, glancing over at his boyfriend.
"Oh, sorry, I was just thinking about something," Semi smiled.
"About what?" Shirabu tilted his head.
"Nothing important." Semi placed his hand on top of Shirabu's, who interlocked their fingers. But after a few seconds, Shirabu retreated his, a gesture Semi followed when he remembered Ren's presence
Ren was not looking at them, fortunately, but Semi understood why Shirabu had withdrawn.
The four of them engaged in conversation, unravelling the details of Ren's sudden visit.
After a while, Keisha stood up, reminding everyone, "I have to go get ready for practice," sighing.
"Oh shit, I totally forgot," Shirabu pulled out his phone to check the time. "You only have about 5 minutes to get ready."
As Keisha walked towards the door, she reassured, "Don't worry, I can get ready fast."
Semi turned his head after Keisha left, noticing Ren staring at him. He sent an awkward smile and turned his gaze to Shirabu, wondering why his uncle was looking at him like that.
The silence was broken when Ren asked, "Is there a relationship between you two?"
Shirabu's head shot up as he looked at his uncle, then at Semi, and back to his uncle. "What are you talking about?" The teen's voice stuttered.
"Do you two have a relationship beyond friendship? The way you keep looking at him and vice versa is very convincing," his uncle stated straightforwardly.
Shirabu laughed slightly. "No, what? We're just friends."
"Kenjirou, I'm okay with you liking men. I don't care; it's none of my business. I just want you and Kiesha to be happy." Ren's words struck both Shirabu and Semi.
"Really?" Shirabu's voice softened.
"Yes, of course. Why would I judge that?" His uncle assured him.
Shirabu took a moment to gather his thoughts before blurting out, "Yes. Me and Semi are dating."
"I'm glad you told me." Ren beamed.
Keisha entered the room in her kit. "Why is the atmosphere in here so weird?"
"Nothing. Are you ready?" Shirabu stood up.
"I can take her," Ren got up. "It is my repayment for not coming to your birthday," he glanced over at Keisha.
"Are you sure? I can go," Shirabu insisted.
"No, it's fine, and don't worry. I still do know where the school is." Ren followed Keisha out. "Oh also, I need to take your car."
Shirabu went and grabbed his keys. "It might take a while to start; I haven't driven it in a while." He glanced back at Semi, who had a grin on his face.
"It's okay, we'll deal with it," Ren took the keys and headed towards the door.
As Shiranu watched his uncle and Keisha leave in the car, Semi crept up behind him and kissed his neck.
Shirabu locked the door and turned to face Semi, leaning against the door. "He took that well." Shirabu flicked Semi's hair.
"I thought it was April Fools or something. You don't understand how much my heart was racing when I found out that was your uncle." Semi's fingers caressed over the latter's hand.
"What a coincidence that you two came at the same time," Shirabu said.
"It wasn't. I actually dropped him off here." Semi sighed deeply.
Shirabu stood up straight. "Wait, what? What happened?"
Semi shook his head. "It's a long, embarrassing story."
