"Life is too short to live in uncertainty. If you don't try, you'll never know."Semi's POV
The dim lights of the concert hall cast a surreal ambience as the music swirled around me, my fingers moving expertly across the strings of my guitar
As the melody reached its peak, I glanced out into the audience. My eyes found him immediately, Shirabu Kenjirou, watching me intently from the crowd. A small smirk tugged at the corner of my lips as I continued to play, my fingers dancing faster over the strings, showing off a bit for him.
I could feel the electricity between us, even from the stage. It was like an unspoken connection, a magnetic pull that drew our gazes together. But then, something caught my attention. A figure approaching Shirabu, someone I recognized all too well – Kai.
My fingers stumbled for a brief moment as my curiosity got the best of me. I watched as Kai engaged in conversation with Shirabu. My heart raced with an odd mixture of emotions – jealousy, confusion, and a hint of annoyance.
The song neared its end, and as the final chord resonated through the hall, I set my guitar aside and quickly made my way outside. I needed to know what they were discussing, and if I was being completely honest, I wanted to stake my claim, to show Kai that I wasn't just a passing presence in Shirabu's life.
I found them standing in a quiet corner, their voices hushed. Without thinking, I approached them, placing my hand casually over Shirabu's shoulder as I asked, "What's going on here?"
Shirabu's eyes flickered with surprise as they met mine. "Semi, hey," he greeted, a touch of uncertainty in his voice. "We were just talking."
My grip on his shoulder tightened just a fraction, my eyes shifting to Kai who seemed slightly agitated by my sudden appearance.
"Talking about what?" I raised an eyebrow, my tone carrying a subtle edge.
Kai cleared his throat, his gaze flickering between Shirabu and me. "I was actually talking to Shirabu about this girl I met online," he explained, his words dripping with nonchalance. "I wanted to ask you guys out on a double date."
I felt a rush of irritation wash over me. A double date? With Shirabu? Kai's audacity was almost laughable. But I wasn't about to back down.
"That sounds like a fun idea," I said, my voice dripping with a fake cheerfulness that I hoped conveyed a message of possession.
Shirabu looked at me, clearly puzzled by my sudden enthusiasm. "Semi, why are you agreeing to this?"
I shot a pointed look at Kai before turning back to Shirabu. "Why not? It could be a good time."
Kai seemed slightly taken aback by my response, his eyes narrowing a fraction. "Well, I should get going," he said, his tone strained. "I'll message you later, Shirabu."
As Kai walked away, I let out a sigh of relief, finally releasing my hold on Shirabu's shoulder. I turned to face him, my gaze intense. "Why would he even think of dating someone if he's about to leave?"
Shirabu's lips twisted into a frown, and he let out a frustrated sigh. "It's not what you think, Semi. It's a date set up by his parents."
I furrowed my brows, my irritation waning as understanding settled in. "Oh."
"Yeah," he muttered, his gaze dropping to the floor. "They've been trying to set him up with someone for a while now. They're are quite strict, that's one of the reasons I couldn't take this any further"
I felt a pang of annoyance that Shirabu still thought about dating Kai
Shirabu looked up at me, his expression softening. "Anyways, why are you here?"
I reached out and brushed my fingers against his cheek. "I just... I don't like the idea of you talking to Kai, even if he's your friend."
A small smile tugged at the corners of his lips, and he leaned into my touch. "You're ridiculous, Semi."
I chuckled, my thumb tracing a gentle path on his skin. "Maybe. But you're stuck with me now, so get used to it."
Shirabu's smile widened, his gaze holding mine. "I already have"
We both chuckled, the tension between us easing into something comfortable and familiar
Shirabu shifted slightly, his fingers lingering next to mine. "So, about that double date..."
I raised an eyebrow, feigning innocence. "What about it?"
He rolled his eyes, a playful glint in his gaze. "You're not off the hook, you know. If we're doing this, you have to play the part too."
I grinned, letting my hand drop from his cheek to wrap around his waist. "Oh, I fully intend to."
Shirabu's lips curled into a mischievous smile, and he leaned in closer, his breath warm against my ear. "Good. Because I wouldn't want you to get jealous again."
I couldn't help the laugh that bubbled up from within me, the tension from before replaced with a sense of ease and contentment. "Fine, fine. Just as long as you promise to keep me entertained."
