Shirabu's Pov
"Do you want to be my fake boyfriend?" That kept replaying in my mind, over and over again
Why would he even ask that? It was probably a joke; he was playing with me
Semi likes girls so why would he want to "fake date"
He doesn't even like me, so why would he help me with Kai?
Nothing added up to me, I was storming with thoughts when my alarm went off
I slid my phone off the bedside table and turned off the alarm. I decided to scroll through my notifications and socials before I got ready for school
I saw that Semi has uploaded a new story on Instagram and decided to check it out
It was him and his friends going out for drinks with the caption "Just finished practice"
I remembered that Semi and Tendou talking about an upcoming performance next week
I was definitely not going, not after what Semi requested. I cringed at the thought
But a little part of me wanted to accept that request. Why? I don't know
I decided to brush the thoughts out of my head and start getting ready for school
Anyways, education is more important than a stupid crush and I don't need Semi's help
Well that's what I wanted to think, but I ended up bumping into someone while heading to breakfast
"Shirabu! Hey" Kai called out, lifting his hand
Oh god, it's happening, he's actually going to talk to me and I have no excuses this time "Hi... Kai" I tried to present a stable smile which was a bit sloppy
We coincidentally met in front of a cafe
"I need to talk to you" Kai had burgundy hair with bright red eyes. He was more muscular than me and taller
I look up at him and sigh in distress
"Shirabu. About the message I got-"
I cut him off by saying something that I regretted so badly "I'm dating Semi. That message was a dare" I mentally yelled at myself for saying that. Why the hell am I lying?
Kai's face wore a peculiar expression, a blend of sadness and happiness intertwining. Lines etched deeper on his forehead, carving an impression of sorrow, yet his eyes sparkled with a glimmer of joy. His downturned lips attempted to convey a mournful tale, yet an undeniable hint of a smile tugged at the corners, yearning to break free
Is he ok?
"Oh wow, I'm happy for you Shirabu" His smile faulted
I look at him confused "Are you ok?"
"Yeah, I'm great! I have to go now, I hope you and Semi luck" Kai turned, and I could slightly see his smile drop when he looked away
