"Alright, my lovely kohai,"

Third Person Pov

Semi returned home, his steps heavy and slow, exhaustion evident in his posture. He took off his shoes at the entrance and looked up to see his mother descending the stairs in a stunning purple dress.

"Are you going somewhere?" Semi asked, his voice tired.

His mother approached him, her hand resting gently on his shoulder. "Your father and I are going out for the night. Be careful, Eita."

His father followed down the stairs, his tie in disarray. "Hun, could you help me?" he asked.

Semi's mother smiled at her husband, her fingers deftly fixing his tie. "Almost been married for 21 years, and you still can't tie your own tie," she teased.

Semi suppressed a shudder at his parents' affectionate display and tried to pass them on the stairs.

"Eita, could we talk to you, please?" his mother asked.

"Could it wait until tomorrow? I'm really tired," Semi replied, continuing up the stairs.

"Okay, rest properly," she said with a warm smile.

Mr. Semi put on his shoes, and after a quick check in the mirror, he turned to his wife. "Hun, are you ready to go?"

"Yeah, let's go," she replied, slipping into her black heels.

However, as she was about to leave, she remembered that Semi might not have eaten yet. She quickly removed her shoes and hurried back up the stairs to Semi's door.

Just as she was about to knock, she heard Semi talking inside his room. Intrigued, she paused to eavesdrop, wondering who he could be speaking to so late at night.

"Poem? It's been a while since I've written one," Semi's voice drifted through the door. "But yeah, I can help you. Should I come over when I'm free?"

His mother strained to hear more.

"Tomorrow? Is that how desperately you want to see me?" Semi chuckled. "Alright, I'll come tomorrow. Okay, I love you too. Don't stay up too late. Good night."

Semi went silent after that.

His mother, baffled by what she had just heard, slowly moved away from the door, confused and concerned. Who was Eita talking to? Who could he be saying "I love you" to? Did he have a secret lover?

She stood upright and knocked on the door.

"Yeah?" Semi replied from inside.

"I... I just wanted to let you know that there is food on the table if you get hungry," she said, her voice a little shaky.

"Okay, thanks, Mother," Semi replied.

"Be careful, okay?" She warned him one more time.

"I will, don't worry," Semi reassured her.

"Okay, bye," she said before heading back downstairs to join her husband at the door.

"All set?" he asked, placing a hand on hers.

"Yes, Hun," she said, putting on her shoes once again. The two of them left the house together, her thoughts still preoccupied with what she had overheard.

As they drove in silence, her husband finally broke the quiet. "Are you alright?"

"No, actually," she admitted. "Don't you think Eita has been acting strangely since we got back?"

"He's always been a bit... unique," her husband said with a chuckle.

"But recently, he's been going out more and staying over at a friend's house more often than before," she pointed out.

"That's true," her husband agreed.

"Do you think he's seeing someone?" she asked, her voice trembling with uncertainty.

"Eita? Probably not. He's quite stubborn about things like that," her husband said. "Why do you ask?"

"I overheard him on the phone earlier, saying 'I love you' to someone and telling her he misses her," she revealed.

"Could it be Navi? Did he finally come to his senses?" her husband wondered.

"No, probably not. He won't agree to the arrangement with Navi even if we threaten to take away his belongings," she replied.

"Then who was he talking to?" he mused.

"We should pay more attention to him," she suggested. "Check his location, and his socials, to make sure he isn't doing anything behind our backs."

"We'll deal with it later. For now, let's enjoy our night together, honey," her husband said, squeezing her hand.

"Sorry, I didn't realize how deeply I was thinking about it," she admitted.

"It's okay. You were just worried about our son," he reassured her.

"See, it would have been easier if we had a daughter," she joked, putting her hand to her forehead.

"We can try for one tonight," he winked.

"No, no more kids. I'm done with them," she sighed.

But for now, her one and only child, Eita, was her primary concern.
