All they talk about these days
Are the who's who's,
Not who was.
They forgot about
The sacrificial acts
And the assorted pacts
They heard all the claps
But it has all passed.
They forgot the ones
They promised to remember
These women and men
Laid the foundation
We stand on today,
And yet you don't seem to appreciate
The blood,
The sweat,
And all the tears,
That they poured graciously
And unconditional
For you,
For this world,
And this generation,
For us.
And you simply let your ego
Control your messed up mind
Because "They are all dead
What do they care"
Well I care!
We give credit to those
Who deserve it
And we will take it away from those
Who don't.
