I woke up to the sound of talking at the foot of my bed. Sharing a room with 4 people isn't easy. Last night, Pen and Tree were fighting over who would have to sleep on the floor. Although it was funny for a short while, it got annoying fast since they were cutting into my precious sleep time, which I cherished profusely. Tree ended up sleeping in the same bed as Liy and me. Thank god no one in the room was a snorer.
Pen was sitting on the couch with the phone to his ear. He asked what we wanted to order for room service.
"Isn't room service super expensive?" I questioned since Pillow was paying for the trip.
"Don't worry, I already asked if we could. Of course, she replied yes." Pen advocated.
"Don't order six protein shakes like you did last time we hung out on vacation." Liy bluntly stated.
"It was five, not six," Pen said with a slight frown.
"Same thing. Either way, it's too many."
Pen asked us for our orders and called the hotel to place an order. We knew Pillow would be ordering for her and her friends. We heard Pie say that Pen was a "goofy individual" through the wall. Tree hysterically laughed at this. It was pretty obvious by now that Pen was the group's punching bag. He was the youngest after all.
While everyone waited for the food to arrive, we played poker and made a rule that the winner would pick someone to do a dare. Pen surprisingly won, despite having the worst poker face of everyone. Every time Pen got a good hand, he would smile and everyone knew what he had. We all tried to stop Pen from winning but to no avail. Surprisingly, Pen chose Liy to do a dare. He reasoned that Liy was the shyest in the room and he was tired of picking on Tree. Pen dared Liy to prank call our other friends in the room next door. Liy was hesitant at first, but she eventually did the dare. She came up with an elaborate plan to make the prank call as funny as possible. She explained that she would call as the hotel receptionist and claim they were making too much noise. From there, she would keep calling them and annoy them to death.
Liy picked up the hotel phone and dialed the other room's landline. It didn't take long for someone to pick up. She hoped it was Bottle since she would be the most likely to believe it, but to her dismay, Pie was on the receiving end.
"Hello, this is the hotel receptionist. We've been getting some noise complaints from your room and request you keep the noise down." Liy spoke in a high-pitched country-girl voice.
"Okay. Sorry miss, we'll keep the noise down." Pie reluctantly stated. Liy could tell she was confused based on her tone of voice.
Five minutes passed. Liy picked up the phone again and dialed the same number as last time.
"Hello?'' said the voice on the other end. Liy could tell that Pie was on the other end again.
"Hi, front desk again. Listen, you obviously did not understand what I said earlier about the noise. You need to keep the noise down." Liy said while she was crying from laughing.
"I think you have the wrong number. We aren't making any noi-"
"MA'AM LISTEN. You either keep down the noise or we will be calling the authorities." Liy asserted.
"Okay... I'm sorry." Pie said on the other end. We could hear her heavy breathing through the phone.
"Thank you."
Before Liy hung up the phone, she said, "Damn Pastries." (pastry is a race in this au)
Everyone in the room was laughing their eyes out. Pen started choking on his own saliva and Tree was crying to death. I was laughing too since I didn't know Liy was capable of saying something as diabolical as that. We laughed for 5 minutes straight and Pen gave Liy a high five after he was done dying of laughter.
