SEPTEMBER
The group decides to meet up again. College is starting and the friends are starting to separate for good, as they're getting older. They decide to meet up at the lake once again.
Remote's the first one there, and she watches as everyone else arrives at the lake.
"Hey, Remote!" Liy waved from a distance.
Remote happily ran over to her and hugged her. They hugged it out for a solid 5 minutes before finally releasing.
"Where should we sit?" Remote asked as she put her arm around Liy's neck.
"I don't know. That rock seems nice, as it's over the waterfall," Liy smiled.
Both of them walked over to the waterfall, holding hands. They stared at each other as the running of the water blocked out the sounds of the nearby city. Remote stared down into the clear water down below, seeing the person she had become from the challenges she had gone through. Liy stood by her side as they both took breaths of relaxation. They were about to kiss, but they got interrupted by a sound in the distance. Pen, Tree, and Lightning had all arrived together.
"Yo! Wassup guys!" Lightning waved.
"We're girls," Liy joked.
"Shush," Lightning laughed.
The boys joined them by the waterfall.
"Man, this place looks like a dream," Pen smiled.
"Tell me about it," Tree smiled.
It wasn't long until the rest of the friends arrived. Bottle and Pillow both rolled jup and joined them by the waterfall. The friends sat around in a circle, with slight mists of water splashing them as they talked to each other.
"Guys, there's something I wanna talk about," Liy smiled.
The group moved away from the waterfall and found a circle of logs, perfect to use as benches. They sat around and smiled at each other.
"I had a dream last night. I can only remember parts, but I thought I was dead," Liy got serious. The others did too. "We were all together, but this time, we were all older, like our parents' ages."
"What were we all doing?" Remote asked.
"I just remember how we all felt. We were all scared, but we were all by each others' side," Liy continued.
Remote stood up and pulled a knife out of her pocket. "I have an idea. We swear, if it isn't dead, or if it ever comes back and hurts the citizens of Goiky, we come back too," Remote told. Everyone cringed at this, but they eventually got the courage to stand up and do the oath with her.
"Why do you have a knife?" Bottle asked.
"You'll see in a second."
Remote cut her hand until blood came out. She cringed at the blood that flowed out of the palm of her hand. After she cut her hand, she went around the circle and cut the palm of everyone else's hand too.
"Ah, shit," Lightning winced in pain and shook his hand silently. He watched the blood pour down the middle of his hand. Everyone else, except for Liy, had a similar reaction.
When Liy's hand was cut, she barely even flinched, just looking at Remote with a smile as she did it.
Once everyone's hand was cut, they all held hands, forming a blood oath. They all held hands in a circle and closed their eyes for a few seconds. They soon released their hands. Remote brought some bandages for them to put on their hands after they were done with the oath. Remote gave them a tissue and bandages. They all wiped their hands and put the bandages on.
"Liy, I hate you," Tree stared at Liy.
Tree soon smiled and everyone else did too. Soon, everyone was laughing as Liy and Tree laughed at each other.
"Welp, see ya later," Tree smiled. He walked away and got in his car. He drove away and everyone watched as he did so.
Following Tree, Pen decided to leave too. He hugged everyone and patted Lightning on the back before leaving. He followed in Tree's footsteps and took his own car home.
One by one, the members started leaving. Now, it was just Remote and Liy together on the stumps of wood.
"What are you planning to do this year?" Liy asked.
"I'm planning to move to New Orleans," Remote commented, deadpan.
"When are you moving?" Liy asked with a frown on her face.
"Tomorrow morning," Remote frowned too.
Liy became even sadder. "How long will you be gone for?"
"I don't know yet. It depends if I like it there," Remote frowned deeper.
The two stared at each other for a couple of seconds before Liy spoke up again.
"If you decide to move, will we always stay in touch?"
"Yes. I'll always remember you," A tear flowed down Remote's face.
The two girls stood up and kissed each other. Remote basked in the feeling of her girlfriend. Although she'd be away from Liy for who knows how long, she would always remember her and she would cement herself as a key part of her life. They released and Remote put a hand on Liy's face.
"Well, is this the end?" Remote asked.
"I guess so. I'll see you around, Remote," Liy smiled.
Remote smiled back and walked to her car. She opened the door and drove off. All Liy did was stare at the back of the car and shed tears, watching Remote drive off into the distance...
