Tree felt uneasy. He didn't know why. Life has always been the same. His life in Goiky wasn't always easy, but he couldn't really complain or say much. His best friend and roommate, Pen, made the hard days worth it and they had come a long way. They were now going to graduate High School in a few days. Tree was uncertain that he and his best friend achieved such a milestone in life, but he worried about what challenges would fall upon him later.

Tree gazed into the mirror as he got ready for the first day of the week. He dried his oak face with a towel. He made sure to brush and trim his leaves extra today. He scowled as he glanced at his own reflection, dissatisfied with his look today. Everything was fine. Why was he so unsatisfied today? He was about to have one of the best and most memorable days of his life in only mere days. With a pant, he tossed his damp towel onto the shower curtain and headed into the living room of his house.

Pen was sitting on the couch, watching his favorite sports team, the Goiky Golden Knights. Tree chuckled at Pen's interest in television, as he didn't understand anything about sports. It seemed Pen had already gotten ready for the day ahead. His blue cap was elegantly glimmering in the daylight, and he was wearing a pair of ripped jeans and an oversized hoodie. He was completely ready to go.

"Hello Pen!" Tree gleefully greeted.

"Shh! The Knights are about to score! I can't miss this!" Pen quietly replied with a finger over his mouth.

Tree rolled his eyes playfully before going into the kitchen to make himself some breakfast, as Pen had already eaten a couple of hours prior. He whipped himself up some quick pancakes. He guzzled them down quickly, as he and Pen were going to be late for their school's graduation party if they didn't get their act together. Tree remarked, "You know, we're going to be late for the party if we don't hurry."

Pen pouted over his shoulder. "Aw, man! Just a little longer? The game is almost over, promise!"

"No Pen, quit your shenanigans, you can pre-record the game some other time. Come on, let's go." Tree asserted.

"Alright, fine! I bet we're going to be early as heck like the last time we went out!" Pen blurted with a slight frown.

Tree found one of Pen's socks on the ground. He took it and hucked it straight at Pen's face. The sock bounced off his forehead with a "Squeak."

"Hey! Rude!" Pen barked as it bounced off his head.

Tree snickered.

They were about to enter Tree's car when Tree noticed his electric car hadn't been charged. Tree was steaming mad. They were already running late, and now they don't even have a car to transport them. Tree squeezed his fists in anger, as the duo had no other choice but to walk to the party.

They ended up being 10 minutes late for the first day of graduation, and Tree couldn't help but grimace at the sight of his enemy, Fanny. She was casually chatting with her best friend, Bubble, next to the entrance of the building where the graduation party was being hosted. He was amazed that the floor didn't suddenly start cracking under the girth of the popular girl. He joked with Pen about it, which Pen instantly chuckled at.

"Oh, look who decided to finally show up! Imagine being late for the graduation party!" Fanny mocked surprised. Bubble laughed along with her statement.

Pen shrunk, "It isn't Tree's fault! I-"

"It was my fault," Tree cut in. "My alarm ended up not going off."

"Hah! You're so stupid tree! What kind of brainless thing doesn't double-check something like that on a day as important as this." Fanny blurted.

"Don't talk to my friend like that! Cool your blades walking air conditioner!" Pen stated with an assertive tone while jumping between Tree and Fanny.
