Today was Sunday. Normally, I would be happy that I had the day off, but the events two nights ago still stuck with me. For the past day, I wondered what that "thing" was that had walked into my room last night. I concluded that it had to be something otherworldly, as I always lock my doors before leaving. There was no way that someone would be able to enter my apartment like that entity did. I woke up and did nothing but stare into nothingness. After my parents died in a house fire when I was a toddler, I had no one to live with. I was alone. In my room. Only accompanied by the thoughts in my head. My mind was like a prison that I couldn't escape. No matter what I did, I couldn't stop thinking about that night. What was even more uncanny about that night was that the voice sounded similar to my dad's. I know how my dad sounds because the job he used to work at had some audio tapes of him when he used to send my mother voice letters to tell her he was okay when he went on business trips. I played back one of his letters while resting on my bed.

"April 16, 2005. Hey dearest! It's your old man checking in to tell you I'm still alive. I recently closed a deal with a business partner and things are currently looking up from here. I'll give you more details when I'm back from the trip. Bye, sweetie! Make sure Liy is well-fed and happy!"

I replayed the tape at least five times before staring at my wall, expressionless. I still remember the day that my house started to burn down, despite only being a toddler. That's how painful the memories were. My dad and mom seemed like super nice people. I wish I had gotten to know them before they passed. When I have nightmares, I can still hear their screams of terror and my dad's voice trying to tell my mom that they'd be okay and that they'd get out of the fire alive.

Even though my sanity was diminishing, I was thankful that Pillow had requested to meet at my house to talk about something. I was even happier when I found out that Remote would come too. I admired Remote. She was the first to be nice to me as far back as I could remember. She stuck with me ever since the beginning and never left my side. The thought that we were now a thing made me feel slightly happier. I got a confidence boost and got ready for the day in a jiff. I looked at my watch. 11:00. I heard the doorbell ring and saw Pillow and Remote outside the door.

"Hey, guys. Come in." I ushered them in, giving a soft smile.

Remote and Pillow seemed... different... Both of them weren't as vocal as before and they seemed to be much more cautious. It made the entire situation rather awkward, despite knowing them both for years. They walked inside the apartment and sat on my couch. Trying to lighten the mood, I was the first to speak.

"Soo Pillow, why did you wanna meet here again?" I quietly asked.

She motioned us to all sit on the couch.

"Okay, I came here to tell you guys that I've been experiencing really weird things lately. Yesterday, I got attacked by something while working my summer job." Pillow spoke with a quavering voice.

Remote and I stayed silent while she explained what she experienced. I was silent because I knew she wasn't lying. I too had experienced an occurrence like hers, but the "thing" she was talking about didn't physically interact with me when I experienced it in my room.

"Same. I had an encounter with the figure too." I sighed.

"What happened to you?"

"Well, the night that we dug up the grave after Teardrop's party, something very odd happened," I explained.

"Go on."

"Something entered my room and started speaking in a different language to me. I pretended that I was asleep so I wouldn't get hurt in the process, which seemed to work since all I saw when I woke up were muddy footprints and a damp carpet."
