"Tree! Where are my pizza rolls?" I called from the kitchen. I had recently gone to the market to pick up groceries. I had bought all of the necessities, but all of my food seemed to continuously disappear.
"I don't know! Check the fridge!"
"I already did dude!" I replied, now slightly angry.
I walked over to Tree's room and saw him with a box in his hand. He saw me walk in and hid the box under his blanket. It was obvious as daylight that he was hiding something.
"What's that under the blanket? I'm not stupid." I rolled my eyes.
"It's my uhhhh... co-collection yeah! My new keychain collection!" Tree laughed,
"Shut up." I stared at him and removed the blanket. There they were, my entire box of pizza rolls empty. There were many crumbs on his bedsheets and a smear of sauce on his lips.
"Listen... I can explain." Tree shook and slightly chuckled.
"Okay, you're buying me more when we leave to hang out with our friends."
"Ugh. Fine. I guess it's fair."
I gave Tree a playful middle finger as I walked out of his room. I decided to instead prepare myself a protein shake for breakfast. It wasn't much, but it was usually the norm whenever I woke up since Tree claimed I was a "health freak who didn't care about anything but working out".
I drank my protein shake and called Tree down, as I was generous enough to make him some food too.
"Tree! Get your butt down here. The fried rice is getting cold!" I called.
"FRIED RICE???"
Tree didn't even bother walking down the stairs. He straight-up jumped over the railing, despite the drop being a story. He landed safely and sprinted over to the table where I had prepared his fried rice.
"I know you can't resist the taste of my world-famous fried rice!" I boasted.
"Okay. You win. Now I REALLY have to pay for your pizza rolls huh." Tree smiled at me and kept eating.
We talked at the table for about fifteen minutes and Tree finished his meal faster than I could click on my favorite video game after it recently updated. Speaking of video games, my favorite fighting game recently had an update. I was eager to play with Tree, considering we had been doing nothing for the first couple of days of summer.
"You up for a game?" I asked, holding two controllers in my hands.
"Heck yeah! You're going down, clown." Tree boasted while walking pridefully to the couch.
We sat down and booted up the console. The update featured some new fighters Tree and I wanted to try out for ourselves. We played a couple of games together before betting on who would win the best of five games.
"Okay. If you win, you don't have to pay for my pizza rolls. If I win, you have to post an embarrassing image to your social media account. Sound fair?"
"Deal! I know you're gonna lose since you're trash at this game." Tree smiled and nudged me.
We played the first four games. The score was neck and neck, with both of us having two wins under our belts.
"Last game, Pen! Feeling nervous?" Tree smiled.
"Not at all ya bozo," I snidely replied.
We played the last game and I ended up winning. I celebrated and didn't bother shaking Tree's hand. He deserved the loss for eating my pizza rolls. Now, he had to post an embarrassing image of himself.
