The story takes place one year ago (Pie is still alive)

"PIE! PIE! WAKE UP!" Bottle excitedly squeaked. Bottle laughed as she picked up a pillow off of Pie's bed and started hitting her with it.

"Okay, okay," Pie smiled as she slowly got up.

"MERRY CHRISTMAS!" Bottle shook her.

"Merry Christmas, Bottle," Pie lightly smiled. "Did you eat the Christmas cookies again this year?"

"Ummmm... oops... hehe," Bottle now started to nervously look away.

"I knew you would, so I bought extras. DON'T touch these though," Pie chuckled.

Bottle grabbed Pie by the hand and they both went downstairs and opened the presents under Pie's tree. Her parents were downstairs already.

"Is Pie up, dear?" Pie's mom smiled at Bottle.

"Yep! She's a real sleepyhead."

Pie's dad chuckled and sipped his morning coffee.

Bottle had piled her gifts up on the living room floor. Pie's parents were holding theirs, waiting for Pie.

"Your parents are on the fireplace. Don't forget your stocking stuffers!" Pie's father smiled.

"Bet."

Pie went over to the fireplace, retrieved her presents, and came back to the main room. She sat down on the ground, eager to open.

"Should we open the presents now?" Bottle asked.

Pie's parents nodded.

We started unwrapping. The wrapping paper came off easily, and each of them was eager to see what they would get for Christmas

"What'd you get, Pie?" Bottle smiled.

"Yo! I got a new lighter! Thank you guys!" Pie smiled in delight. She got up and went to hug her parents. Her parents smiled back and hugged her too. Bottle sat on the ground awkwardly, but she didn't mind. Pie's parents treated her like their own since her father couldn't do what he had to.

"Woah? You guys got me this?" Bottle called out from the living room.

"Yep! We knew you'd like it!" Pie's mother called out.

Pie walked over to see what Bottle got. She held up a new phone.

"Did you guys get her a phone?" Pie asked her parents.

"Well, her old one was breaking down every five seconds, so we figured she could use one."

"Where's my phone?" Pie joked and nudged her dad.

"You haven't opened all your presents yet!"

"Fair enough."

PERSPECTIVE SWITCH: PIE

I walked back over to Bottle and opened my next present. I unwrapped this present, which was comically large compared to the last one.

"Holy smokes! An electric scooter?"

I immediately unboxed the giant box it came in. Out popped a folded-up scooter, which instantly lit up once I plugged it into the wall to charge.

"Cool!" Bottle smiled.

"I know," I shot her a look.

Bottle and I kept opening presents. We both continued to open gifts and get things we had wanted the entire year. Ever since a couple of years ago, Bottle has always lived with us because of her home life. At this point, she was like a sister to me, and my parents treated her like their own daughter. It felt good not to be an only child on the holidays, as it could get boring at times.
