Morning arrived, the sun's rays spilling through the windows and the room and pulling Yandi out of her slumber. She stirred for a moment, still enjoying the warmth of the blankets compared to the drop in temperature around her.

Winter was in full swing, and she groaned as she turned in the duvet. She was also surprised that she didn't wake up to a drenched pillow, something she thought was inevitable considering she was now in Omari's bed.

But, she got up and out to get the day started. It was past 8am and she grabbed her phone, relieved that she had no appointments for the day. A yawn escaped her lips as she stretched, strutting to the bathroom to wash up.

There was an strange sense of calm, as if Omari would burst into the bathroom like he usually did, being the energetic man he was and coaxing Yandi to do the same. She smiled at the thought, walking out briefly to connect her phone to the speakers.

A smirk surfaced as Lucky Daye's Good & Plenty, remembering how she and Omari had countless conversations about his taste in music.

The morning started off really well.
Yandi moved through the room; clearing the clutter, throwing the stray clothes she found in Omari's closet into the basket. She stopped momentarily, taking in the faint scent of his cologne from one of his shirts.

She ended up doing both their laundry since she still had some of her clothes over at his, thereafter emptying the trash and clearing out the fridge plus watering his plants.

By mid morning the house had a crisp, fresh aroma. Music echoed through the living room as though Omari had never left. She stood in the middle of the room feeling accomplished, though hunger took over.

She made some oats and dried fruit, watching the news as she relaxed on the couch when her phone rang. Malik's contact flashed across the screen and she reached for the device, swiping to answer.

"Hey," Yandi answered, clearing her throat and setting her bowl aside.
"Hey, Good morning. How are you feeling today?"
"Good morning, Malik. I'm... good." She answered truthfully. "Oh uhm- and you? How are you?" She blurted , not wanting it to be one sided.

"I'm glad you're good. I am great, there's good news- Omari's awake."

Yandi felt a her breath caught for a moment, trying to make sure she knew what she just heard.

Omari was awake.

It was as though a burden was lifted from her, Malik's voice drowned out and all she could focus on was the fact that Omari was awake after nearly two weeks of him being in a coma.

"Hello, Yandi are you there?" Malik asked, pulling her out of her thoughts.
"Yeah yeah, I'm here I just-" Yandi stopped herself from crying.

"I'm on my way."

"...I believe that's all for now. I will have a nurse pass by to check on him from time to time. But just give him a little while to adjust to his surroundings before raiding him," the doctor explained as he glanced down at Omari with a small smile.

Mr and Mrs Saidi thanked the doctor as he made his exit, turning back to Omari shutting his eyes momentarily.

Malik and Zion were there too, having witnessed Omari waking up. The first thing that came out of his mouth was 'where is Yandi?', before he went mute when the doctor rushed in.

Mrs Saidi was still in momentary shock when the doctor left, wondering what exactly his relationship with Yandi was, and the effect it had to the point where he would even ask for her before anybody else.
