'Tayyyyy! Come down this instance! I am not going to repeat myself!'
I was playing with the guitar strings and humming contently when Ma's angry voice echoed from downstairs.
'Coming!!' I got up from my bed quickly and went out of the room. The truth is, I am very afraid of my Ma. Pa....not so much.
But before going down,I peeked from upstairs. I saw Ma was standing right in front of the dining table with a serious face. Pa was putting groceries in the fridge. Looks like they just got back from the market. Two maids were helping him.
I don't understand them.....like at all! We have so many servants but my parents love to do grocery shopping all by themselves! Once a week they go to the biggest vegetable market near the river and buy almost everything.
'Why didn't you go to the uni today?' Ma was really mad.
'I couldn't find my uniform anywhere.' I lied with a straight face.
'What?' Ma looked less angry.
'Yeah. I looked everywhere.' I shrugged pretending to be helpless.
'Why didn't you tell me earlier! But as far as I remember I definitely told them to put it in your room last night.....'
'It's not there. Maybe they forgot...' I tried my best to look obedient.
Ma raised her brows.
'But today was your first day....'
'It's okay Ma....' I pretended to be sad.
'THADA!' She shouted so suddenly that my heart jumped in surprise.
'Yeah?' Thada came out of his room with a book in hand.
'Go check Tay's closet and see if his uniform is really missing or not.'
I cursed silently. I didn't hide it at all! It's still in the closet!
Ma was watching me with narrowed eyes. Pa looked at me and smiled knowingly. Then he shook his head and sat down.
They know me too well.
'There is no uniform in his closet.' Thada came out and stood beside me.
I looked at him but he wasn't paying any attention to me.
'Oh...' Finally she stopped being suspicious.
'Maybe they misplaced it. Let me check my room.' Thada went inside and came out with a folded shirt.
'Here. I think when they were sorting laundry they put it in my room mistakenly.'
'Don't worry darling, he will attend uni from tomorrow onwards. Right Tay?' Pa came forward to rescue me.
'Yes Pa.' I nodded quickly.
'Forget it. Come down both of you and have lunch.' Ma said dispiritedly.
'You own me big time.' Thada whispered before going down.
'Thanks bro.' I murmured.
By the way, I am Tawan Vihokratana Nick name Tay. My Pa is one of the richest men in Bangkok. Our family owns more than 70% import and export business of our country. My Ma used to help pa in the business but after having Thada she stopped going to the company. Thanda is my big brother. He is 3 years older than me. He is in his final year of university.
Today was my first day at uni and I skipped it. Why? Because.......I was busy doing something.....I have to be somewhere in the afternoon.... it's very important......and frankly speaking at uni they are going to do just orientation today.....I'll catch up tomorrow.....no big deal.
