It was 3 in the afternoon and the sun was casting a gentle glow, creating a soft and inviting ambiance. The sky was painted with shades of blue, adorned with fluffy clouds that lazily drift by. I never paid attention to these details in the past but today everything was extra beautiful. I was waiting for New at the university main gate and watching students going in and out.
After waiting for what felt like an eternity...New came out from the building. This whole situation was just like my dream.....
'Tay.' He was smiling brightly.
'Hin.' My heart was fluttering and my stomach was churning....
'Where are we going?' The usual calmness was nowhere in New's voice.
'That's a secret.' I smiled and winked.
'Tell me na.' His wide eyes were full of excitement and curiosity.
'Nope.' I shook my head.
'Tayyyy.' His cute whine was music to my ears.
'I don't think it's safe to stay here for long. If someone sees us together....' Wait a bit more baby.
'Fine! Let's go from here. But tell me on the way okay?' He tried to sound calm but he didn't succeed much.
'Nope.' I was enjoying this new side of his character.
'Ah! Tayyy.' He cutely stomped his feet.
'Come on...we don't have time to waste.' I started to walk towards the car. New followed me with a pout on his face.
Sulking much?
'Where's the driver?' New was surprised to see the empty car.
'I didn't bring one. I don't want a third person with us today.'
'But....'
'I don't like to drive Hin, but it's not like I can't drive.'
'Then let me drive.'
'It's okay. You don't know where we are going.'
'Are you sure?'
'Absolutely. I am not going to let anything happen to you.'
'I am not concerned about myself you know..'
'I know. Now get on.'
I opened the door and he got on. After gently closing the door I quickly got in the driver seat and gave him the bouquet which was laying on the back seat.
'For me?'
'Mn.' I smiled. The soft sunlight was making his face reddish. So I am not sure if he was blushing or not.
I started to drive. Our destination was 2 hours away.
'Thanks. These are......my favourite.' He took a sniff and smiled in indulgence.
'I know.'
'How? I didn't tell you about this...'
'I have my sources too you know.'
Actually, I called aunt Sophie earlier today and she told me many details about New and his likes, dislikes. Funny thing is she didn't even want to know why I was asking all this. She just answered my every questions sincerely. She is a very nice person.
'Thanks.'
'You are breaking the rule Hin.'
'Let me break the rule just this once Tay. What you did for me yesterday......I am really grateful for that..'
