Suddenly the door of my room burst opened and Mint walked out fuming. We were standing near Thada's room and she didn't look behind so couldn't see us. Thada grabbed my arm and pushed me inside his room.
She was talking on her phone.
'Mom, I am very upset right now. I don't want to hear anything anymore. Just do whatever it takes but make him go away from here.'
'.......'
'I don't care! If you can't do anything then don't blame me for being reckless.'
'........'
'Fine! Let me handle him then. P Waii can get upset about it but I don't care right now.' With that, she cut the call.
So it was her talking loudly on her phone..
'Hm...she is not so timid I guess.' Thada said after she went downstairs.
I was shocked too. She always plays nice in front of me, this is the first time I saw her face ugly with anger.
'This is odd. I mean New should be angry with his family for abandoning him years ago not the other way around. Why is Mint so angry?' Thada was still carrying those plates.
'Because she thinks that New is the reason why P Waii distanced himself from other family members including her.'

'Why are you carrying these?'
'Ma gave these for me and New. I asked him to stay in my room. Where did he go?'
I felt irritated now. So everyone has talked to him except me! Why can't I talk to New for once?
'So.... that's all. These plants are my favorite. I like flower plants most.'
We both looked up at the same time and saw Pa and New coming down from the stairs.
'Pa! What are you doing?' Why are you with New!
'I was giving New a tour of my rooftop garden.' Pa was in his happy mood.
'Thada has been waiting with those cakes for a long time. Now come and eat them.' I couldn't hold it anymore.
'Easy bro...' Thada coughed lightly.
'Sorry, sorry, it was my fault. New....you must be hungry....'

'Still, go with them and have fun. I took already so much of your time.' Pa patted him on the back.
'I like plants too.' He laughed.
'Ah ah! Good boy. Now go and eat the cake. Mint specially made it for her boyfriend.'

'Really? How sweet.' New smiled, there was no malice in it.
'Come inside.' I am so upset about this situation.
I let him enter my room and Thada put those plates on the table.
'You guys carry on. I have to make an urgent call.' Thada gave a polite nod and left the room.
