What the fuck is going on!!
I looked at Thada and then at New. I am totally speechless right now. We came here to talk about Mint and my break up but right now something else is happening!
'Dinner has served madam.' Aunt Sophie announced after sometime.
I was waiting for this opportunity. I wanted to talk to New and about to walk towards him when Thada went straight to him and said,
'You took the exam early..... How was it?'
'It was okay.' New said quietly. His face was still red.
'Do you know my department and your department sometimes hold joint seminars?' Thada was all smiles.
'Yeah. I know. Last time I saw you there. You gave a presentation on community centre designs.' New answered. His eyes were filled with awe.
'You were there! Okay...' Thada was happy to hear that.
Ma and Mrs Khemwaen were watching them too, I heard them clearly,
'You were right. Thada and New have so much in common. They'll become good friends in no time.' Ma was elated.
'Yes. Thada is so matured. New needs someone like him who can guide him towards the right direction.' Mrs Khemwaen said enthusiastically.
I lost my appetite.
They all took their seats. Thada and New were immersed in deep conversation. They sat side by side. My seat was beside Mint.....far away from them.
I want to go home. I don't want to be here a moment longer.
Suddenly I heard a snicker. I looked at Mint and saw she was watching New with pure hatred.
She knows what's going on!!
'Mint? May I talk to you for a second?' I asked in a hushed voice.
'I don't want to talk to you.' She was back to her true self.
'Should I tell everyone about my head injury?' I bite back. My blood was boiling.
'Fine!' She quickly replied.
'Excuse me, I need to use the restroom.' I said this while watching Thada and New but they didn't look at me.
'I'll take you there.' Mint got up from her seat and we both went outside. I didn't stop and went straight to the outside garden.
'What is it? Why do you bring me here?'
'I want to ask you something.'
'What? Now that you've seen his true intention you want to get back with me?' She mocked.

'Why are you so surprised? Didn't I tell you that he is full of tricks? I knew from the start that he didn't become your friend for nothing. He had to have some motives. Now you can see that.'
