Seven days......168 hours....
There is still no news of him. It's like he has completely disappeared from my life. I was ready to go to Germany but Thada said I should complete my exam and then he will help me in every way he can.
If one could die due to excessive anxiety then I would have died so many times during these days. I was anxious, restless, angry.....I was living in hell.
Today is the last day of my limit.
'Sit down first.'
I just came back from university after finishing my last paper when Thada gave me this instruction.
'Why? What happened.' I didn't sit down but rooted on the spot.
'I have two pieces of news.' Thada grabbed my wrist and dragged me towards the sofa.
'Is New okay? Nothing happened to him right?' My legs became weak.
'I think I know why he couldn't contact you these past few days.' We sat down.
'Why? Why?' I was about to get up when Thada again dragged me down.
'P Waii is hospitalized.' He said solemnly.
'Hospitalized! What do you mean by that!' I was shocked.
'Hm. I called P Waii's office again today. That lady said P Waii has some health issues and has to be hospitalized in Berlin.
'Shit! When did this happen? Did she say anything about it?' I was really anxious because this may be the one and only reason why New is out of reach.
'She was vague about it. I think she doesn't know the details either.'
'Let's go to Germany. New is really alone there. I want to be there.'
'What are we going to say to Ma and Pa? Think before you speak.'
'Do you honestly think that I am capable of any rational thinking right now! I am dying bit by bit every day! The love of my life is out there in a foreign country facing such an unexpected incident and here I am finishing my exam. What a great boyfriend I am!' My anger flared up.
'Easy! Lower your voice first.' Thada tried to calm me down.
I didn't say anything more. P Waii is currently sick and New is attending him. I know New, he is a calm and cool person but whenever it comes to his 'Hiya' he forgets the world. He is definitely busy taking care of him and ignoring me because I am not his priority.
'Now the second piece of news....' Thada said with a strange expression.
'Is it related to New ?' I was already feeling depressed. I am not interested if it doesn't involve New.
'Um...not directly...'
'What then? Tell me.'
'It's about Mint..'
'Not interested.' I said straight forwardly.
'She received a new heart.'
'Oh.....good....'
'Yeah.'
'How did you know that?' I asked after sometime.
'I called Mr Khemwaen...'
'What! Why?'
'You were so stressed out these days and I couldn't help you in anyway so I called him this morning before calling their company. But the thing is he doesn't know anything about P Waii.....or at least he didn't tell me about it. I only got the news after I talked to that lady. Mr Khemwaen just happily informed me about Mint's successful surgery. And when I asked about New he just said he is in Germany and not in contact with them... that's all.' Thada said.
