"never in my life have i ever been more insulted!" hermione cried as she entered the common room.

"what happened this time?" george asked.

"it was that malfoy girl! she's always getting higher marks than me!" she plopped down on the couch by the fire.

"granger, can you shut up about it already! so what if she's smarter than you?!" harry snapped.

"harry, mate, c'mon. you know how much she cares for her grades." george jumped in but backed out when he saw granger's face.

george huffed and walked out. he headed to the slytherin common room to see his girl. she was malfoy's sister. weasley knew how much hermione hated her, and that only fueled the love he had for her. draco did like the twins, however, he was very protective over his little sister. mattheo, tom, enzo, and regulus looked out for the girl, never letting anything bad happen to her.

"where's alice?" george asked when he arrived.

"i'll get her, come on in and make yourself comfortable." mattheo smiled at the redhead.

george took a seat on the sofa and waited for his girl. she came down the stairs, and he swore he saw his life flash before his eyes. alice may have only been in her pajamas but george had never seen a sight so beautiful in his life. mattheo and tom stood a little ways behind the girl.

"accompany me to the black lake tonight?" george held out his arm.

"i'd be honored to, georgie." she giggled and connected their arms.

george and alice walked to the black lake. he had set up a small little picnic for her. she smiled and kissed the boy. they spent the rest of the day just talking and being in each other's presence. everything had been going really well until hermione came out of nowhere, screaming about her latest exam. she hadn't failed, but she hadn't passed up to her standards. granger only stopped when she saw the boy with her academic rival.

"why are you here with her?!" she glared at alice.

"she's my girl. and we're on a date." george wouldn't take his eyes off her.

"george, she's a bloody cheater! she cheats on every guy she's ever been with. you're better off with someone from our house." hermione huffed and took a seat next to the redhead.

alice didn't say anything. she knew hermione was lying, but didn't have the energy to fight with her. george had never believed a word that came out of her mouth, and he sure as hell wasn't going to start now. alice just left the two of them there. despite her boyfriend's protests and begs for her to come back. hermione smiled to herself, hoping her grades will slip now that she's upset.

"you're a horrible person, granger. is this really because she got a higher mark than you did? if it is, i swear to merlin, i'm never talking to you again." weasley cleaned the picnic up and left.

"you know how much i care about being top of the class, george!" hermione called after him.

george reached the dungeons, whispering the password and entering the common room. alice was sitting at the desk furthest away from everyone. george slipped past her, going to draco and mattheo's room. they were surprised to see the redhead back so soon. george explained what happened and asked if there was a way they could help him get granger back for what she did.

tom and enzo were brought in a reinforcements. they'd never hit a girl, but that doesn't means they didn't have other ways. pansy and daphne agreed to beat her up. george stopped them and told the girls that the best way to mess with her was her grades.

"what're you lot talking about?" she asked.

"nothing, princess." mattheo smiled.
