fred and grace had been together since their second year at hogwarts. they've been inseparable, attached at the hip. george was always a little jealous of their relationship at first, but he grew to love grace. ginny, ron, percy, molly, and arthur all adored her too. they were happy the two had found each other and stayed together. they were good for one another. grace was the only one who could reign him in, fred was the only one who could get her out of her shell.
eight years later, fred and grace were sitting on the couch of their apartment. they'd just gotten married two weeks prior. the couple always talked about what married life would be like. happy, healthy, loving, fun. grace got up to use the bathroom, telling her lover that she'd be right back. fred kissed her forehead before she left. that was always their thing. whenever grace was about to leave to go anywhere, even the bathroom, fred always gave her a kiss.
in the bathroom, grace pulled out a test. she'd been feeling off for awhile now and needed to know for sure. fred never shut up about having children and grace was more than happy to have them. she knew he'd be happy, but she didn't want to say anything until she knew for sure. grace had taken at least eight of the damn things before coming to the conclusion that she was carrying fred's child. the girl called her lover into the bathroom after the ninth one came up positive. fred rushed over and knocked on the door.
"are you alright, darling?" he asked.
"yes. i just have something i need to tell you. promise me you won't freak out and i'll open the door, okay?" grace bit her nails.
"i'd never freak out on you, love. please open up." his voice laced with worry.
grace unlocked the door and opened it. fred's eyes immediately went to the counter where all nine of the tests were sitting. he saw that all of them said positive. grace had tears in her eyes, as did fred. he turned to her and smiled, picking her up and spinning her around. he couldn't believe it. grace was carrying his child, he was going to be a father!
"are you serious? is this real?" his eyes sparkling.
"it's real, freddie, i took all of them a few minutes ago." she said through tears.
"oh love, this is the best news! we've to tell your parents! and my parents! oh, everyone's going to be so excited!" fred couldn't contain himself.
"relax baby, one person at a time." grace giggled.
"we're gonna be parents, grace." the redhead whispered.
"you'll be the best dad to our little one." she smiled.
"and you'll be the best mum to our little bean." he kissed his wife.
