tony knew something was going on between peter and pietro, but he couldn't put his finger on it. he had a guess, sure, but he didn't want to assume. 

bucky and steve knew. they were the same way when they were their age. a long time ago, but still. 

nat, wanda, and thor were waiting to see how long they could get away with it for before tony finally confronted them.

peter and pietro had been careful around tony. the spider wasn't ready to talk about it yet, but pietro had tried to tell him that everything would be okay. wanda even tried to comfort him. 

tony caught onto their side glances, the longing looks when they weren't sitting next to each other in meetings, their hands touching and immediately pulling away. it had been going on for weeks, but tony still never said anything. if they really were together, he'd be okay with that, as long as it didn't affect either of their performances on missions.

after they'd been "sneaking around" for nearly three months, bucky and steve sat peter down so they could talk to him. they had some advice they wanted to offer, since they were the same way and telling their fathers had been something they both were absolutely terrified of.

"kid, you really should just tell tony. he'll be happy for you and the torpedo." bucky smiled.

"yea. i mean, we were terrified of telling our fathers too, but people are a lot more accepting of love these days. tony's no exception. his own brother was bisexual, yknow?" steve chuckled, throwing an arm around bucky's shoulder.

"i want to tell him, but i don't want him to think we can't do our jobs." peter sighed.

"he won't think that, moya lyubov. he still gives missions and jobs to the captain and his boyfriend. i think he'd be more upset if we never tell him and just leave him to guess what's happening." pietro came over and sat next to peter, kissing his forehead before sitting down.

"will you go with me to tell him?" peter half-smiled at his boyfriend.

"of course. i'd never let you do something like this on your own." pietro ran his hand through the other boy's hair.

steve and bucky weren't really paying much attention to them, but they'd listen in every so often to make sure they were still okay. once pietro leaned to kiss peter, the soldiers took that as their cue to leave. pietro rolled his eyes and kissed his lover with as much passion as he could. peter kissed back with just the same, if not more. 

that night, peter asked tony to sit down in the living room with him and pietro. tony agreed, hoping they were finally going to tell him what the hell was going on with the two of them lately. pietro didn't hold peter's hand this time, but he would if the spider got too anxious or nervous.

"so there's something i'm nervous to tell you but i really want you to know." peter's voice shook.

"what's up, kid?" tony kept his composure.

"pietro and i are together. we have been for awhile." parker intertwined their fingers.

"thank you for telling me. i'm sorry if i ever made you feel like you couldn't." tony smiled, hugging the boy.

pietro and peter hugged tony before heading up to the spider's room. tony called after them, telling the boys to keep the door open at least three feet. pietro agreed to his face, but shook his head once they were in peter's room. they closed the door and put on a movie. 

tony heard the door shut and sighed in annoyance. he knew they would do that, but he was hoping they'd listen to him just once. steve and bucky came into the living room and tried not to laugh at a stressed looking iron man.

"you good, tony?" steve asked.

"peter and pietro are upstairs." tony scrubbed a hand over his face.

"so?" bucky tilted his head.

"with the door closed." tony rolled his eyes.

steve and bucky looked at one another before looking back at tony. they tried not to giggle, they really did, but tony was being an overprotective dad and they couldn't help it. tony glared at them, but they couldn't stop. when tony got up to leave, steve grabbed his arm and pulled him back down on the couch.

"don't go knocking on the door, tony. they're young and in love. give them a bit of privacy." steve chuckled, his laughter dying down.

"i don't want them doing things they're not ready for." iron man shrugged.

"pietro would never push the kid into doing something he isn't ready for. even if they were ready, they'd probably await until no one was here so they didn't disturb anyone." bucky reasoned, getting a slap on the shoulder from steve.

"what?" tony's head snapped towards the soldier.

"nothin, just thinking out loud." bucky's voice got an octave higher.

"barnes, what do you know?" tony glared, standing and walking to where bucky was now backing away.

"nothing!" bucky tried to hide behind steve, but the captain moved out of the way.

steve had been laughing hysterically while watching tony chase bucky around the living room, trying to figure out what he meant. pietro and peter came down to get some snacks, but stopped in their tracks when they saw what was happening. pietro asked the captain what the hell was happening. peter almost didn't want to know.

almost.

"bucky implied that you two were sleeping together and now tony's chasing him around the room for clarification." steve explained.

"oh." peter scratched the back of his neck.

tony and bucky stopped running around once they saw the couple in the kitchen. tony gave pietro a death glare as he cleared his throat.

"are you pressuring my kid into doing things he isn't ready for?" tony's voice was scarily low.

"no, mr stark! i would never do that to him!" pietro shook his head.

"mr stark, we're just gonna go back upstairs now." peter pulled his lover away from the kitchen.

tony went to chase after them, but bucky and steve held him back. peter and pietro were giggling all the way up the stairs and locked the door behind him. tony flopped down on the couch again and pinched the bridge of his nose. steve and bucky took the empty seats near him.

"is the kid sleeping with him or what?" tony asked.

"they've slept together, yes, but never while anyone's here." steve answered.

"and how would you know, rogers?" iron man looked over at him.

"they came to us and -" steve was cut off by bucky smacking the back of his head.

"i just know." steve looked at the floor.

"i can't stand any of you. i want you all to know that." tony called pepper to tell her what just happened.
