A few weeks had passed since I had arrived onto Asgard, and I had already gotten deep into research.
It was weird, but the more I read, the more I remembered. It got to the point where I would read the title of a book and already know what it was about. In a way it felt like I had always known it, I just had to trigger the memories into coming to the surface. That made my job much easier.
But what Odin wanted me to do... I couldn't find the information on it. He wished for me to find out how Freya made a certain kind of crystals, that were like endless batteries of magical energy. Not even when I was shown the biggest one, the one that powered the shield of Asgard did I remember the process of it's creation.
Freya had hidden that information somewhere that wasn't among all of those book.
Though I had an idea of how I could find out more. I found the report that she wrote for Odin in relation to their creation.
She had gone into the mountains back then. The same mountains that Loki told me Tyr had lived in. And I had a hunch that he had helped her in some way. I couldn't be sure, but I trusted my gut on it and I left in search of Tyr.
---
I open the door of the cabin and see a small room. It didn't look like a place that someone left on purpose. A cup was still on the table, a few books were also left open there. A pile of clean clothes was neatly folded on a chair, which indicated that there was still some unfinished business when Tyr left. He must have left in a hurry, unexpectedly.
I felt a strange energy coming from below. Something must have been there. But when I searched the house, I found no way to a basement.
I closed my eyes and focused on the exact place that the energy came from and I tried to teleport there. But something blocked me out. It was as if the energy was so dense there, that I couldn't get in.
I opened my eyes again, and noticed that a light was coming out from my bag. I open it and notice that the crystals were glowing. I took one into my hand and tried to feel out the energy. It was the same as the one I felt from below. The crystals were resonating with whatever was below me.
I remembered one of the crystal generators that Freya had created. It was used for the soul forge. The way the soul forge created an image of the energies was incredible.
Then an idea came into my mind. What if I could tune in on the small energies that remain here and create an image of what went on before.
I focus in on the vibrations and recreated the process of the soul forge, tweaking it a bit.
Then I saw a figure made out of light take shape. It was seated at the table, taking a sip out of the cup and looking over the books in front of it. Suddenly it got up and began walking towards the bookshelf. It stood there doing something for a while, and then it went through it.
That's it! A hidden entrance behind the bookshelf. What a classic.
I go over there and look for some sort of hidden button or handle and soon enough I find it behind a big black book.
I open the door and see a set of twisting stairs that went below. I follow them and find myself in a cave. In it was a giant circle of stones, and in the middle stood a man in a meditation pose.
I approach him. The moment I entered the stone circle it lit up. Many blue runes appearing on the stone surfaces. And as they lit up, so did the man's eyes open.
"You arrived". He spoke, his voice hoarse.
"You must be Tyr". I conclude.
He nodded.
