Cheska sits on her bed, frustration bubbling up inside her. She opens her friend group chat on her phone and begins typing her rant.
< Cheska: Guys, I am so irritated with Lyka right now! She completely ignored my instructions for the math video script. How hard is it to follow simple directions? >
She hits send and impatiently waits for a response. Phoebe's message pops up almost instantly.
< Phoebe: Hey, Cheska. I understand you're frustrated, but maybe it's time we communicate properly. Remaining chill and discussing the issue calmly might yield better results. >
Cheska groans in exasperation, her fingers quickly typing another message.
< Cheska: I know we should communicate, but it's just so annoying! Lyka should have listened to me in the first place. I can't believe she disregarded my instructions like that. >
Phoebe's response comes after a brief pause, filled with a sense of concern.
< Phoebe: Cheska, I get that you're stressed and upset, huhu but please try to remain calm. Getting too worked up isn't good for your mental health. Let's find a way to address the issue without letting it consume you. Huhu >
Cheska's frustration is momentarily overshadowed by Phoebe's words. She takes a deep breath, realizing the validity of her friend's concerns.
< Cheska: I wuv u <3 >
Meanwhile, Cheska kept chatting Delaney but Delaney isn't responding.
Delaney sits at her desk, her heart pounding in her chest as she reads the threatening message from her teachers, saying she'll get suspended, kicked out, or repeat a grade.
Fear and anxiety wash over her, and tears well up in her eyes. She feels a wave of panic, understanding the consequences she might face if she doesn't comply.
"No, I can't get suspended. I can't fail. I just... I panic easily. It's hard for me to participate in class."
Her hands tremble as she tries to steady herself. Just then, her bedroom door creaks open, and her mother steps in, holding a piece of paper with a disappointed expression on her face.
"Delaney, I just saw your science exam score. It's incredibly low. How could you let this happen?!!"
Delaney's eyes widen, her body rigid with fear. She stammers, trying to find the right words.
"Mom, I... I tried my best, but I... I couldn't focus. I get scared in class, and it's hard for me to concentrate."
Her mother's face twists with frustration, her voice laced with disappointment.
"Scared? What are you talking about, Delaney? You need to push through your fears and perform better. This is unacceptable!"
Delaney's tears spill over, her voice shaking as she tries to explain herself.
"I know, Mom, but it's not that simple for me. I get overwhelmed, and I can't think straight. I'm sorry."
Delaney's father had been out of town for the past week, so when he returned home, he was surprised to find Delaney in her room, crying.
Delaney was hesitant to answer, but her mother eventually told him that she had failed a test.
Her father's face immediately turned red with anger. He started scolding her, telling her that she was lazy and irresponsible.
He yelled at her for not studying hard enough and for not taking her education seriously.
Delaney tried to explain that she had studied, but her father wouldn't listen. He kept yelling and berating her.
