Cheska sits on a bench in the crowded enrollment hallway. She taps her fingers on her leg, clearly bored and impatient.
The sound of shuffling papers and murmurs fills the air as students and parents mill about, waiting for their turn to enroll.
Cheska stands in line, her gaze lands on Audrey who stands a few feet away, also waiting in line.
Cheska's eyes widen in shock, and a mixture of surprise and excitement washes over her face. She can hardly believe what she's seeing. She hurriedly steps out of line and rushes towards Audrey.
"Audrey? What are you doing here? Are you... enrolling for this school too again?"
Audrey turns towards Cheska, her expression mirroring the same surprise.
"Cheska, I was just about to ask you the same thing! I can't believe we're both enrolling here. Looks like we'll be classmates again this year!"
Cheska's shock slowly transforms into an ear-to-ear grin. She wraps Audrey in a tight hug, unable to contain her excitement.
"This is amazing! I thought you were going to transfer to another school. I can't believe we get to spend another year together!"
Audrey returns the hug, her face beaming with joy.
"I thought about it, Cheska, but after talking to my parents and considering everything, we decided that staying here was the best option. I couldn't imagine being in a different school"
Cheska releases Audrey from the hug, her eyes shining with happiness.
"I'm so glad you're staying. This place wouldn't be the same without you. We're going to have an amazing year together, Audrey!"
Both girls return to the enrollment line, side by side, their excitement palpable. The noise of the hallway fades into the background as they engage in animated conversation, catching up on their summer adventures and discussing their hopes and expectations for the upcoming year.
It had been an hour.
Cheska stands in a long, winding line, waiting for her turn to enroll.
She glances around the crowded hallway, her expression falling into a state of boredom.
The air is filled with the sound of restless students and the occasional murmurs of parents discussing enrollment procedures.
She lets out a deep sigh, leaning against the wall as she tries to pass the time.
Her fingers tap rhythmlessly on her forearm, a clear sign of her growing impatience.
Cheska shifts her weight from one foot to the other, her eyes scanning the hallway for any form of distraction.
Out of great boredom, she's already 2nd in line, she checks her group chat.
< Fredrick: You won't believe it. I stumbled upon some pictures of Castlemonte High School online, and it's seriously stunning. I think you should check it out. >
< JB: I second that! Castlemonte is like a dream campus. The architecture, the gardens... it's all so picturesque. I wish we could visit together. >
< Bless: Guys, I've been doing some research too, and the music program at Castlemonte is outstanding. They have state-of-the-art facilities and renowned instructors. It's a musician's paradise! >
Cheska's curiosity piqued, she quickly searches for images of Castlemonte High School on her phone. She started searching for the history, articles, and social media posts, she feels a sense of anticipation building within her.
