Amara went home after school with a smile on her face. A bunch of thoughts were rushing through her head: what was she gonna wear? Who else was gonna be there? What if her dad kicked her and her mates out of the pub and everyone hated her?

When she entered her home she was bombarded with questions, to say the least.

"How was your day? Did you make friends? Did anyone say anything mean? Were the teachers nice?"

"Mum, it was great!" Amara smiled, watching her mum's worried face turn into relief. "Turns out most people in our year are happy about the reopening of the pub that dad owns. I'm going there later with my mates if that's alright?"

"Your friends? To the pub? Really?" Her expression changed, "Who with? What time? Do you need me to drop you off-"

"Mum!" She placed her hands on her mum's arms, "Lara, Molly, Amelia, Adam, Carl and Niamh."

"Well aren't you a popular girl now!" Amara's mum grinned with excitement. "You can go.. as long as you're safe and don't get into trouble. No fraternisin' with them boys!"

"Ew no! Adam n' Carl and my new mates are fine." I brushed it off, leaving the part where Adam kept brushing my waist with his hands purposefully. "Anyway, I need to get ready and then I'll be out of your hair."

"Alright love, I never doubted your ability to fit in!"

Amara laid on her bed, unsure of what to wear. Her dad was going to be there, so she wanted to make sure whatever she wore wasn't over the top, (it's not like she had anything revealing anyways considering how protective he was). She rolled onto her back, texting Lara.

Hey, what are you wearing? I have no idea what to wear!! x

Within seconds, Lara responded, Girl get your arse over to mine! I have a shit ton of options and Niamh and Amelia are here for pre-drinks anyway. Get ready for you first out of many parties in your life babe x

Amara didn't realise that there would be pre-drinks, god she needed to keep up with the times, Alright I'll set off now! x

It didn't take long for Amara to arrive at Lara's, in fact everyone literally lived on the same street. She followed Molly up to Lara's room, who greeted her with a small smile again. Amara felt the younger girl warming up to her, but it would take time, especially since Molly wasn't in any of Amara or anyone else's classes at school since she was in the year below.

The girls saw Amara walk into the room and they stood up and gave her a hug.

Niamh grinned after pulling away from the hug, "Took you long enough, don't you love a few houses away?" She joked and flopped on the bed again.

Amara laughed at the remark, "Sorry, my mum was questioning me about the same things over and over again." Lara then guided her friend over to her wardrobe.

The blonde girl opened her large wardrobe doors, despite having such a small room, she liked having a good fashion sense. "We're dressin' like slags, you are too if you wanna make a good impression." They all flicked through her wardrobe curiously to find something that would suit Amara. Lara then pulled out a black dress with a lovely lace neckline that was lower than expected when Amara tried it on.

Amelia placed a record on Lara's record player so they could get ready with music blasting. Molly helped Amara with her makeup since they were near enough the same skin tone whilst Niamh passed around the cans of different flavoured vodka around that she had stolen from her dad's garage.

"I hope there's a fit lad there. Not the weird ones." Lara groaned as she adjusted her dress, which was quite short, but it didn't bother her in the slightest. Molly didn't know how to feel about her sister wearing something that short. Despite being younger she thought herself as more mature that her older sister (by one year, but Lara made a big deal out of it).
