The next day, feeling like shit, Amara quickly ran to a certain boy's house, whom she had been thinking about.

Everything he had told her was true.

She wished she listened to him a while ago.

Maybe then she wouldn't feel like shit.

Earlier, she had replied to Lara and Molly's messages that asked if she was okay. Unfortunately, they were busy today so she couldn't go to theirs. She had a message from Noel, which basically explained how Liam was pissed off at her and Lexie had a broken nose. He found the situation funny.

She knocked on the boys' house, he opened the door with a smirk.

"Watson. Back for round two so soon?" Adam smirked, his arm leaning against the frame.

"Ignore everythin' I said that day yeah?" Amara breathed out, stepping forward and grabbing his face to press their lips together roughly. Their tongues immediately interwined, Adam smirked knowingly. He had been waiting for this moment for ages.

She questioned herself for a moment. This was the guy who used to make her feel uncomfortable a lot. The guy who made things about himself and made her feel bad about what she said.

But, he was the one who warned her about Liam. He was the one she should've trusted in the first place.

Right?

Adam pulled her inside, closing the door and lifting her up. He took her to the living room, placing her on his sofa. She took off her own shirt, he pressed kisses against her neck and chest.

"Ain't this a surprise?" Adam grinned.

"I like to be surprisin'."

After doing a certain deed together, they both got dressed before making out on the sofa.

Adam didn't want to say the wrong thing to ruin the whole moment, secretly enjoying that the girl he had been after for ages had finally came running to him.

"Fuckin' hell, are you the same shy girl I met on your first day of school?" He grinned.

Amara didn't really recognise herself, even when she looked in the mirror. She took more pride in everything, her appearance and attitude. She had changed a lot.

Before, she didn't drink alcohol or take drugs before gigs. The thought of it used to make her shake. She never considered talking back to people, nevermind trying to beat them up. When people used to call her names, she used to ignore them and go home to cry. But now, she felt more confident and violent.

They kissed again and stood up. They decided to head outside and go for a short walk to the park.

"We gonna tell anyone 'bout this?" He asked and grabbed her hand tightly.

"'bout what?" She winked.

FEW WEEKS LATER

The pair weren't dating, but they were together, if that made sense. They hung out more often, whether it was for a quick shag, for comfort or to genuinely hang out if they were bored. Adam would sometimes sneak into Amara's house when his parents were at home arguing before they disappeared for days to weeks on end.

Amara had met his parents before, she hated it. His dad reminded her of her own dad, the violent side. His mother didn't say a word. Her eyes were vacant and empty, like she didn't have a soul. She once came stumbling into the house when Amara and Adam were on the sofa, heading to the kitchen and collecting as much booze as possible before drinking it all on one outside with her disgusting friends.
