A few more weeks passed, and Amara was in her boring maths lesson. Liam and Lara were also in the lesson with her. Lara sat next to her, but Liam was on the other side of the room. They had been seeing each other quite a lot. Ever since Amara was allowed to actually hang out with her friends instead of being grounded, she saw Liam a lot. She still made time for her mates of course. Lara hung out with Bonehead quite a bit too.
Her dad still didn't approve of her friends, her mum on the other hand loved the fact she was getting out more. They sometimes came over a lot, mostly when her dad wasn't there. The first time her girl friends met her mum was not long ago, and when they left her mum was happy to tell her daughter that she definitely approved of them, and also to ignore her dad's comments.
Amara still kept quiet about her father's painful actions towards her. It happened again a few nights ago, he wasn't pissed or anything either. Amara wondered what was suddenly causing all of this aggression. Had he had an argument with her mum? They never argued though. Amara just put some cheap makeup over the purple marks on her arm, making sure to wear her jackets around everywhere.
It was only a small mark, she didn't want to make a big deal about it. Even if she told someone it would make things worse. Besides, her dad loves her... These were just accidents.
Amara and Lara were chatting to each other quietly at the back of the class. Lara was pointing to the marks on Amara's neck teasingly, not realising the teacher had called on her.
"Miss Watson? Amara!" The teacher, Miss Clark, called the teenager. Lara nudged her friend, who realised what was happening. "Question five. The answer?"
Clark looked angry, students around started to snicker and Amara wanted the floor to eat her. Suddenly there's a crash to the side of the room where Liam was. He had accidentally fallen on the ground.
"God, sorry miss," Liam spoke, sitting back on his chair, containing his laughter, "I think I fainted again."
The class laughed, but the teacher rolled her eyes. Amara caught his eye, sending an appreciative smile. He had saved her from the teacher's wrath, it's not like it would've been the first time she was yelled at by the teacher, but she appreciated the gesture.
Clark cleared her throat, removing the glasses from her face, "If you feel like you're going to faint again please make your way to the nurse's office. I trust you know where it is?"
"Yeh miss, but Amara helps me out when I get dizzy spells like this," Liam replied, sitting up on his chair, "It would help if she came too."
Lara nudged Amara again in disbelief, but hid her face with her arm and acted like she was working. Clark nodded understandingly, god she was so gullible.
"Alright I'll allow it, but Amara come straight back please."
Amara was shocked, but didn't want to show it on her face. Liam was waiting for her at the door before the sped walked down the corridor together, holding each other's hand and trying not to laugh.
"No way that just happened!" She squeeled.
"Well I couldn't just leave my girl stranded like that now could I?" He told her with a wink, guiding her to the exit.
Amara stopped for a moment, smirking and tilting her head, "Your girl, eh?"
"Well, we've been spendin' all this time togetha', why not make it official?" Liam replied, watching Amara's pleased face turn into a gleam, "Mara, d'ya wanna be mine?"
"How could I refuse a gorgeous face like that?" She pressed her lips against his for a moment before they heard movement around the corner. "C'mon!" She knew where they could go where there was no camera.
