FEW WEEKS LATER

The Junes were doing more gigs around the place like usual. They enjoyed their lifestyle and hoped it could be this way forever. Amara spent more time with Adam, though sometimes he was beginning to become more possessive over her. At first, she thought it was because he cared about her a lot. But, now she secretly thought it was because he liked to be controlling.

'Don't be stupid, Amara!'

He loves her.. no one has loved her like he does. Well, that's what he tells her all the time.

She feared they were spending too much time with each other. Maybe their relationship was going too fast. He always wanted to know where she was going, who she was seeing and whether any more men were there. He just about tolerated Liam when they all went out after a successful gig.

The two bands were talking about going on another trip again like last time. The Junes would perform at one venue, then have a break day, then Oasis would perform, and they would travel to the next place unless they wanted to squeeze in an extra gig for the thrill of it. Amara had so much fun last time, despite it ending a bit on the negative side when they went to the pubs.

When she told Adam about it, he didn't like the idea. In fact, he hated it. It took her so much convincing, but he said he was going to let her do it in the next upcoming month.

They had their first fight a couple of weeks ago. It was over a harmless comment that Lara made about Amara and Liam's past relationship when they hung out once at the pub. Adam laughed it off when they were around other people, but as soon as they were in private he got pissed off at her. It was like he flipped a switch in his head and he became aggressive and every little thing annoyed him.

Amara had to convince Adam that her and Liam were just friends and what Lara said was a joke. She remembered how Adam scoffed, venom lacing his tone as he did so whilst slagging off Lara. Amara snapped at him when he said rude stuff about one of her best friends, stuff that she couldn't even think about repeating.

That was when Adam did something that Amara would never forget. For the first time in a while, since her dad, she felt scared.

Adam had pushed her against the wall outside the pub they were hanging out at, yelling in her face. The pub was rowdy that night, so no one heard Amara's sobs and pleads but Adam. He didn't feel any bit of empathy for his girlfriend. His hands gripped her arms, nails digging in as he watched her squirm. The power it gave him made him feel stronger.

Amara was too shaken to go back inside and face everyone that day. She texted Lara that she suddenly felt sick and had to go home. Once she had reached her house, Adam apologised about his behaviour.

He promised to not do it again.. but he did...

At least she was good at makeup and covering stuff up. 'It was okay though, he loved her. It was just an accident.'

One night, The Junes and Oasis went out drinking after another gig, this time it was in Glasgow. Like usual, the crowd had been great. Everyone was laughing and drinking, apart from Amara. She didn't feel like drinking tonight, her head hurt too much.

"You not havin' a drink, babe?" Lara asked Amara, noticing she hadn't really touched her g&t. "You've usually wolfed it down by now."

Amara opened her mouth to speak, but Adam spoke for her, "She has a headache. She doesn't feel like drinkin'."

They found it odd at first how Amara didn't get chance to speak, but they shrugged it off at first. All but Liam. His eyes inspected Adam closely. The way he whispered stuff in Amara's ear when she started to laugh a lot, or talk to one of the guys or even make a harmless joke. Her behaviour was different. Too different.
