TW: Talks of Breastfeeding, Being Underweight.......?
~
Over the next few weeks, I've been visiting the twins until my paperwork was approved to officially adopt the them. I've grown so attached to them already. Bay is definitely the more clingy one while Bellamy is the exact opposite, although she does enjoy a good cuddle. Sadie has allowed me to have skin to skin time with them as well, saying that it will help grow our bond as well as my maternal instinct even if I didn't have them myself, physically. It definitely worked because the twins are becoming more and more attached to me. Every time I visit and leave the orphanage they cry after me like they sense that I'm leaving. It breaks my heart each time and I shed a few tears, not wanting to be separate from them either.
Currently, I'm in my art studio painting an abstract picture of nature. A client had called the other day wanting a picture to match their living room so I'm in work mode. I have my speakers on blast and the curtains open to let in some natural light. Halfway through the painting I get a FaceTime call from my mom. I debated if I should answer but decided I should considering a lot is about to change in my life and she deserves to know.
"Hey mom!" I answered with a big smile on my face.
"Hey, baby. How are you? I haven't heard from you in a bit." She said.
"I'm good mom. I've been so busy lately, I have a lot to update you on." I responded.
"Go on..." She said with a smile as her dimple appeared on her right cheek.
"So.....you know how I was approved to adopt or foster?" I said with excitement.
"Uh huh." She nodded her head.
"So the other day, I had visited an orphanage up in Milan and fell in love with a pair of twins that I plan on adopting. I'm just waiting on paperwork to go through." I spoke with a genuine smile on my face.
"Oh my gosh! Really?! I'm so excited to meet my grandchildren. What are their names? Tell me about them!" My mom rambled excitedly for me. She has always been so supportive of everything that I do.
"Their newborns so I'm gonna be very busy with them." I chuckled. "The oldest by two minutes is Bellamy and then Bay is the youngest. I met Bay first and fell in love." I added.
"Wow, newborns? You're gonna be getting no sleep so whenever you need me just call and I'll be on my way to help. Have you set anything up yet?" She offered politely which I was grateful for.
"Yeah, I just finished the nursery up yesterday and got a lot of things for them both and I definitely will be calling you. I'm nervous I'll mess something up better yet them." I spoke up with insecurity lingering in my voice.
"Of course you're nervous, you're a first time mother but you're gonna be amazing and your not going through this amazing journey alone. I'm very proud of you and everything you do." My mom responded with genuine admiration.
