The next morning, I woke up from the sound and the movement of my daughters trying to wake me up by jumping on me and yelling my name. How nice, right?
I was laid on my back, my eyes still closed. "Mommy!" I heard Bay shout as she jumped on me, straddling my lap.
"Mamá wake up." I heard Bellamy say to me as she shook me.
I groaned, slowly opening my eyes. I saw the two rascals looking at me, making sure I was getting up. I wiped my eyes and finally focused my attention on the girls, sitting up against the headboard.
I pulled them both in my lap, there back to me. "What do you two want?" I asked sarcastically as I smiled down at them.
"We helped papá make breakfast and he told us to get you up so we can eat together like a family." Bay explained as I nodded my head along with her.
I kissed the top of each of their heads. "Oh yeah! I bet that was fun. What did you guys make?" I asked them with enthusiasm.
"Papá called it a fruit par-parfait but it's just yogurt and fruit, mamá." Bellamy said as she shrugged her shoulders. I giggled at her correction and agreed with her. I cuddled them closer to me before I looked at the clock to see what time it was. It read Friday 6:21 AM.
"How about you two go back downstairs with you papá, I'm gonna go brush my teeth and stuff. I'll be down with you guys in a minute, okay?" I instructed them.
"Okay, mommy." They both said as they ran out the room.
"Hey! No running!" I shouted at them.
"Yes, mamá!" They shouted back, though I could still hear their little feet running against the hardwood floor. I shook my head at their disobedience with a little laugh before I headed off to the bathroom to do my morning routine. I got dressed in clothes I didn't care to get dirty because I had a few paintings I needed to finish up by tomorrow for a few clients out in New York so I had a lot of work to do today. Luckily the kids had school today so I had a bit of time to get things done while they're gone. I pulled on a pair of black socks, a white t-shirt, and some faded overalls with old paint splatters all over them. My hair is twisted up at the front in a bun as I then wrapped a scarf around it to accessorize.
