"You should rest now," Jungkook said, patting Bam, who was wagging his tail enthusiastically, clearly craving more attention from his human.
Taehyung smiled at the playful pup. "What's his name?"
"Bam," Jungkook replied, rubbing the dog's belly, making Bam wriggle happily.
"He's so big. How old is he?"
"Five months and twenty-seven days," Jungkook answered, his voice filled with pride.
"Really? He looks like---" Taehyung began, eyes wide in surprise.
Jungkook giggled, cutting him off. "Old? Yeah, I know. He looks like a big dog, but he's just a baby."
"He's cute," Taehyung couldn't help but coo at the adorable sight. He watched Jungkook play with Bam, feeling a warmth spread through his chest. Suddenly, a thought struck him, and he hesitantly began, "I never thanked you, so, thanks a lot."
Jungkook looked up, meeting Taehyung's gaze. He saw the contemplation in his eyes and smiled softly. "That's alright. But you should go and rest for a while. Your body is still exhausted with everything that's happened."
Taehyung nodded, biting his lower lip nervously. "I still don't know your name though."
Jungkook paused for a moment before responding, "But you gave me one."
Taehyung's heart started beating faster, and he couldn't help but blush, recalling the name and the circumstances under which he had given it. His face turned a shade of pink, and he glanced down, feeling shy and embarrassed.
Jungkook's expression turned into one of satisfaction as he saw Taehyung struggling with his emotions. He enjoyed the little game they were playing.
"Yeah, but I want to know your real name," Taehyung insisted, his curiosity and interest clear in his eyes.
Jungkook found himself grappling with an inexplicable reluctance to reveal his name to the other man. It was as if he wanted to suppress the burning desire to hear his name spoken by those tantalizingly sinful lips. Deep down, he feared that his heart might not survive the experience. After all, why forge a bond when there was only emptiness ahead? Yet, despite his aversion to nicknames, he cherished the one Taehyung had given him. Taehyung had a knack for shattering all of Jungkook's carefully constructed beliefs and boundaries. The nickname was a tender reminder of the unforgettable night they had shared, a secret Jungkook hoped Taehyung would always remember, just as he knew he would never be able to forget it.
"Like I said before, you don't need to know. Now, go back to sleep. You need rest for your medicine to work," Jungkook said, attempting to sound firm but gentle.
Taehyung, however, was no fool. He saw right through Jungkook's attempt to shut down any further conversation. It was clear that something about his name made Jungkook unusually defensive.
Taehyung smirked, a mischievous glint in his eye. "Oh, come on. Are you really going to make me guess? What if I start calling you something ridiculous? Like 'Sparkles' or 'Mr. Snuggles'? You know I'll do it."
Jungkook's eyes widened in mock horror. "You wouldn't dare."
"Try me," Taehyung challenged, crossing his arms with a playful grin.
Jungkook sighed, trying to hide his amusement. "Fine. Call me whatever you want. Just know that if you call me 'Mr. Snuggles,' I'm telling everyone you still sleep with a teddy bear."
Taehyung burst out laughing. "Fair enough. But you should know, my teddy bear's name is Taehyung Jr., and he's very sensitive about his reputation."
Jungkook couldn't help but laugh, shaking his head. "You're impossible."
