The moment Jungkook stepped into the venue, the setup was magnificent. The white and pink theme felt so elegant and classy. A waiter came with champagne flutes and offered him one. The psychiatrist graciously took one and bowed as a thank you. He was scanning through the crowd of rich CEOs and businessmen when somebody tapped on his shoulder and he turned around. 

"Hello, I'm Min Yoongi, are you Miss Yewon's guest?"

Jungkook nodded and so the man guided him towards a seat. Before he left he asked the man, "May I know where I can find Ms Jung?"

"Oh, they will be here any minute. Please enjoy yourself"

"Um, may I ask you something if you don't mind?"

Yoongi encouragingly smiled at that so the raven said, "I--I don't know anyone here so can I like, just for a while, like---"

"We can hang out. You don't need to fumble that much. These fancy settings can be really intimidating at times, I know that", Jungkook relaxed, "But I'm supposed to greet any of Mr Kim's guests so I'll be coming and going"

"That's better than looking like an outcast. By the way, My name Dr Jeon Jungkook"

Yoongi raised an eyebrow, "You're a doctor?"

Jungkook nodded, "A psychiatrist to be specific"

Yoongi furrowed his eyebrows suspiciously, "Are you Ms Yewon's psychiatrist?"

Jungkook nodded in confusion because he couldn't understand why was it a big deal. 

However, the man didn't push the topic any further and instead asked, "Why're you not here with your plus one?"

"I didn't know we could bring one and also I don't have a plus to tag along"

"Really, how old are you?"

"I'm 26, next month I'll be 27"

"27? and still single? what went wrong dude?", he chuckled.

Yoongi had instantly warmed up to Jungkook which the raven didn't mind. "Oh, believe me, everything about me is wrong"

"that sounds intriguing"

"maybe"

"no judgment though and excuse me, I have an important client to attend", Jungkook nodded in acknowledgement. He again sips on his drink and thinks back to the reason he is single. 

It's not like he has never dated. But the things he's been looking for are rarely available these days. What also creates hindrance is the homophobic attitude of the society. People don't feel comfortable being open about their sexuality and that's a big turn-off for him. For Jungkook he doesn't go around telling people that he's gay but he isn't someone to lie about it. It is one of the big reasons why he was jobless for a long time because people didn't want to hire a gay dude. That's when he started keeping things to himself and only told someone if they asked. Mostly people he met weren't close enough to know about such personal details.

Speaking of his dating endeavours, people he met so far were just temporary flings until one day he met a Spanish guy, named Borja who was visiting Seoul for a photography venture. That was his only ever relationship. He met him in a club and happened to share the vibe. He was nice, romantic and very outgoing. He treated Jungkook really well. He was the first with whom the raven explored the sexual infinities. It was all new and overwhelming but Borja made him really comfortable with the thought. As time passed the raven even moved in with him when he was looking for accommodation in Seoul. It was all unicorn and rainbows for a while. 

the thing was Jungkook's job was very demanding and initially his boyfriend was pretty understanding. He was working really hard to make a living in the medical world. Being a doctor wasn't easy in itself but being an intern was like working 72 hours nonstop with minimal pay. In the earlier days, Borja would make sure that the raven was doing okay emotionally and physically. On off days, they would have a lot of sex to relieve his tension and relax his mind. But he failed to notice Borja was a sex maniac. when the work pressure started getting out of control Jungkook would come home really tired and was never in a mood. That irked his partner. They started having a lot of arguments and slowly the love started diminishing out of the relationship. His mind went back to the day they had their ugliest fight.
