A few days had passed since Taehyung last saw Jungkook. He had been swamped with office responsibilities, prioritizing his workload before planning a vacation with Yewon. However, a more pressing matter loomed – convincing Yewon to agree to the proposed holiday. It was a delicate task, as he was uncertain of her response. He ardently hoped she would agree, considering the potential repercussions from his father if the plan fell through.
Now, he found himself at the chosen venue, eagerly anticipating Yewon's arrival. Summoning the courage to call and set a date, he hoped to bridge the emotional distance that had grown between them since her father's accident. His primary desire was to regain her trust.
The setting was a charming open space in a continental restaurant, exuding a delightful ambiance. Sipping on a strawberry milkshake, Taehyung waited anxiously for Yewon, hoping this carefully arranged setting would pave the way for a positive outcome.
Before too long, Taehyung's fiancée arrived, donned in a flowing white summer dress that radiated youth and vitality as she gracefully reached their meeting spot.
"Hello, Tae," she greeted her fiancé.
Taehyung couldn't help but notice an unusual aura about her. There was no indication that she had a paralyzed father at home or that her business prospects were slipping away. She exuded an air of happiness, and Taehyung was curious about the source. What exactly was bringing her joy remained a mystery to him.
"Hi, Yewon," he responded with a warm smile, pulling out a chair for her. Taking his own seat across from her, he settled in.
"So, what's new?" she casually inquired, browsing the menu to explore the various culinary offerings of the restaurant.
"Nothing much, I was just thinking that it's been too long since we've had the chance to meet and chat in such a lovely setting," the brunette replied.
"It's true, though. The ambiance here is really wonderful; I'm enjoying it," she said, lifting her head from the menu to take in the beautiful surroundings.
"I'm glad you like it," Taehyung responded with a sincere smile.
"Yeah," she took the menu and began browsing the dish options again, searching for meals that aligned with her dietary preferences. "So, how's your business with the Chinese partners going?"
"It's progressing well, actually. And how's Mr. Jung?"
"The same. Not much progress," she spoke casually, as if discussing a mere acquaintance rather than her own father.
"When is his upcoming doctor's appointment scheduled?"
"Sehun handles those matters. He just keeps me informed about them," she said nonchalantly.
"Oh, I see," the brunette detected a certain detachment in her tone, a peculiar vibe as if she had lost some emotional warmth.
"Yeah, I'd rather focus on the business than dwell on my emotions for the old man," the coldness in her voice was unsettling. She had transformed into an entirely unsympathetic person, but Taehyung chose not to point that out. He swallowed the discomfort he felt around her.
"I wanted to ask you something," he finally mustered the courage to bring up the matter he had planned for this date.
"Sure, what is it?"
"I was thinking we could go on a vacation," he hesitantly uttered the words, appearing nervous and partially expecting a rejection.
"A vacation... isn't that a bit sudden?" She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion.
"Actually I was thinking about it for quite a long time", 𝘓𝘪𝘢𝘳. Of course, Taehyung can't tell her the real reason, "But with your situation with your father, I was a bit hesitant"
